It is a fun song, but it definitely has some flaws. For example, for some odd reason it sounds hella dated compared to the rest of the album. I enjoy listening to this one, and its big purpose is that it is a great song for the live shows. That's the main reason why this song is so high on my list because of the fond memories I have of seeing Reba perform this in her shows. That said, I've never considered this a great single choice and I don't remember this performing all that well in her artist rankdown either.

The only surprise this rankdown would bring in is seeing "I'll Be" win, but I think most of us fully expect that not to be the case lol

And when you're there with no one there to hold, I'll be the arms that reach for you. And when you feel your faith is running low, I'll be there to believe in you. When all you find are lies I'll be the truth you need. When you need someone to run to, You can run to me.
2. "I'll Be"
Track 3 Runtime: 4:29 Songwriters: Diane Warren
Placement in the Singles Rankdown: #25 out of 100
Sometimes you've got to listen to the silence And give yourself a little time to think.
Her every breath is weaker than the last, And lately when she sleeps, she talks about the past. Her husband knows she's tired of holdin' on. She looks at him and says, "I want to go home."
What do you say in a moment like this? When you can't find the words to tell it like it is. Just close your eyes and let your heart lead the way. Oh what do you say?
1. "What Do You Say"
Track 4 Runtime: 3:30 Songwriters: Michael Dulaney, Neil Thrasher

What Do You Say is one of my favorites from her. Such a great song.
The title track did so well in my list because it was the only song with any tempo on this album.

Nope, but it's kinda cool that this was our top 2 for the entire rankdown! "What Do You Say" may have held on to the lead by about 30 points, but "I'll Be" also built up a similar lead against the #3 song. It's pretty rare for a #2 song to put up the kind of huge lead that "I'll Be" did here :)

Well, damn! How historic is this win, boaty! Everyone has it in the Top 5, and nearly all of those were #1s! I love both but as much as I love "What Do You Say," I couldn't justify putting "I'll Be" anywhere but at #1. This was a song that had already meant a lot to me in my life, but it just meant so much more upon my aunt's passing. Every time I really need to hear this song, it comes on without my searching for it and I just close my eyes. It's almost as if my aunt sings to me each time. I'll forever hold this song with me and it would've been quite high on my list if I was around for Reba's overall singles rankdown. As for "What Do You Say" I am excited this won as well and it's another one of my favorites from Reba's list of singles. Would've been my #1 with ease if "I'll Be" weren't on this album. Thanks for hosting bboat11 and I'm perched for the Reba Holiday Rankdown!

Even after all of these years, "What Do You Say" is a song that still stops be in my tracks to this day. No matter what, whenever I hear this song I literally have to stop whatever it is that I might be doing (unless I'm driving of course) and listen intentively. If it hits me just right I might even tear up a bit. Well deserved win!

I have always considered "I'll Be" to be one of her more underrated hits. It is odd how little regard it is given these days, and how forgotten it seems to be, considering how often I heard it back in the day. It was such a big hit that I actually remember it, despite being like 6/7 years old and not paying any attention to the radio! I can see why people might not like it because of its A/C-leaning production and fairly cliche lyrics and repetitive melody, but I have always found it to be a really interesting song from Reba for many of those reasons. The production fits this song to a T, and she honestly still sounds amazing despite the fact that it is not a particularly challenging vocal. I LOVE the way she delivers the pre-chorus, especially the way her voice echoes on "when troubles come around" and "when you need someone to run to". I was SHOCKED to see it finish in the top 25 of her singles rankdown, and I am thrilled to see it be top 2 without competition here. Clearly Pulse seems to like this song a lot more than they usually let on! "What Do You Say" was the obvious winner from this album, without a doubt... But talk about a deserving victory! As the lone #1 hit (Mediabase) from this album, this has managed to stay in the spotlight through the years as a fan favorite. But what this song is most noteworthy for is THAT MUSIC VIDEO!!!! The lyrics are honestly kind of generic inspirational (the type of song people would criticize Martina for, tbh) but that video gives this song a WHOLE new meaning! Don't read any further if you don't want any spoilers... Basically you see this whole family, with the parents working hard to raise their family, the mom dealing with the stress of having to pick up the daughter from a party, etc. Fairly commonplace middle-class family stuff. And then next thing you know the mom's staring into a mirror, and you're thinking "damn she looks stressed". And then she takes her hair off, and you realize it was actually a wig all along, and she is dealing with fucking CANCER......and then that heartbreaking 3rd verse starts about the "her every breath is weaker than the last" shit, with the husband and children sitting in the hospital... Like, you can't do that to me!!!!!! As somebody who just lost their mom after a 17-year battle with cancer, this music video is hard to watch... It is SOOOOO good though

Yasssss, it'll be nice to host a holiday rankdown that people are actually excited for!!! 😂 Hopefully y'all are excited to celebrate her '90s album tracks too in the meantime I'm soooooo perched to see how that one will turn out! Album tracks rankdowns are probably my favorite to host, because they're so unpredictable!!

"What Do You Say" was far and away the best this album had to offer, so I'm happy it won (though there was never any doubt). Even it though has always irked me just a tad because I feel like the first verse is so underwhelming when compared to the second and particularly the third, though the build with each verse getting serious than the previous is good -- I just wish they tried harder with the opening verse. The back half of the song is incredible though and Reba's vocal is perfect.

I love "We're So Good Together" for what it is, and was glad to see it do well here. It's a fun album opener that works really, really well in concert. I'm sure me seeing her do it live numerous times has something to do with how much I like. "What Do You Say" is a very worthy winner, though. While this is easily my least favourite of her studio country albums since probably Just A Little Love, it's not a bad album at all. She just sets the bar so high that a decent album from her pales in comparison with everything else.

I didn't know where else to put this, but I found an Australian AC Version of "Fallin' Out of Love" that I actually quite loved. It came up randomly on my YouTube recommendations and I wanted to see if anyone else has heard it/what y'all think of it.

It was also available here too, on Moments & Memories. I've never been a massive "Fallin' Out Of Love" fan, but I do really appreciate all of these different versions of it. Though, I have to say, her almost acoustic version from a few weeks ago is probably my favourite.
