Grrr... replace either of the last two out with "Secret" and this top 5 would be so much better. The other 4 are stellar.

Her vocal on Moving Oleta is fantastic! I wish I had ranked it higher in retrospect.

Oh well, still some great songs to come!
Can't wait!

I can't even with those that ranked "Moving Oleta" low, can you really call yourself a country music fan and have this song low...sorry probably being a little ridiculous but I just love this song. How I wish it had been a single simply so I could have heard it sooner than now. Such an incredible song and should have been in the Top 5!!!
Also, I love "Once You've Learned To Be Lonely" because it is such a true statement. Love everything about that song and that contended with "Moving Oleta" for my #1 along with my #2, at least that one is still in, hopefully you all don't do that one dirty also and it be out at #5 (though looking at the remaining songs I suppose it could be).
Truth be told after listening to this album I would not have chosen any of the songs that were released to be singles. Don't get me wrong I can enjoy them all but I also find them all to be fairly forgettable when it comes to her entire career (sorry I prefer Mark Wills version of "Somebody" and just could never love her version).

My stab at top 5 predictions: 01. Somebody 02. He Gets That from Me 03. It Just Has to Be This Way 04. I'm Gonna Take That Mountain 05. Secret That’s my guess as well. Secret making the top 5 is the biggest surprise to me, by far.

I love everything about this post, except the closing part... I don't know who Mark Wills is, probably some sort of hot tub salesman or lumberjack by now, but if Reba sang a song that he happened to sing once, then it is no longer his song!

Only she knows she still loves him, and she hates the choice she made. Wishes she could find him, tell him why she walked away. Every day gets harder livin' with herself, But she knew he'd be better off raised by someone else. God, it's lonely being the only one that knows the truth.

Leaving us at #5, we say goodbye to one of the two songs that was in the top 5 for the entire submission process! "Secret" has always been one of my immediate favorites on this album. It is a perfect opening track for the album. I have always loved the dark and moody sound of the instrumentation, paired with the fact that it is also one of the faster songs on the album. I mean, I wouldn't call it uptempo, but it is definitely not a ballad or even a standard mid tempo.
But perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this song is its lyrics! This is one of those songs that isn't necessarily a story song, yet still tells a story, and the way it unfolds is completely masterful. Based on the way the song starts, you'd think it is about a woman who had an affair and is struggling under the weight of the guilt while trying to hide it from her husband. That is a very logical assumption, that is not really interesting, but it is at least well-told. But then all of a sudden with the second verse you realize she is actually a woman who gave her son up for adoption back in her younger years, and has regretted her own decision ever since... THAT is the secret that she can never tell, and the moment that revelation is made, that immediately makes this song like 10x more effective imo. NOBODY sings songs like this, and yet here Reba is nonchalantly starting the whole flipping album with it! Talk about starting out with a bang, and setting the scene for an album full of emotions!

Sean's Thoughts: 06. “Secret”: Looking back at when this album came out, I was obsessed with this song and I still am. Going into this countdown I knew this song was going to be high because it has always held up so well for me. I’m not that big of a fan of the production, but there is something about the lyrics that I really enjoy.

It's overwhelming looking up, Knowing it's the challenge of Me against this heartache to survive. I may slip and I may fall, But even if I have to crawl I'll break through to the healing side.

Lol sorry for the delay! My internet freaked out right as I finished typing the reveal... Had to wait for it to stop being dumb and then retype everything... "I'm Gonna Take That Mountain", the lead single from this album, becomes the second single to bid us farewell in this rankdown. It was a solid #3 contender for awhile, but always had trouble getting higher, and ultimately ended up getting stuck at #4. This song earned a whopping SIX #1 ranks, however, making it one of the most-loved songs on this album by far!!! LBTrocks, ChicaCherry콜라, ClevelandRox, .indulgecountry, sbp17, and SHOOTER are the latest to join the #1 losses club. Naos also becomes the final person to lose their last-place song. IGTTM is straight FIRE!!!! I LOVE the cold open to this song so much Reba sings the hell out of it for sure! It has never been among my favorite songs from her, but honestly that is just because her catalog is so strong rather than any issue with the song itself. Most artists would kill to release a song this good, but for her this is a song that faces a hard uphill battle just because it invariably gets compared to her all-time classics, and I seem to recall most people thinking it fell short of that benchmark when it was released as a single... Still, it is awesome, and I was worried it might get tanked out in the middle of this rankdown, so I am more than happy with this very solid top 4 placement!

"Mountain" is one of the best uptempo singles of her career. Total jam. Love everything about it and I'm just glad it made it this far!

Sean's Thoughts: 07. “I’m Gonna Take That Mountain”: I like this song, but I always felt like it was a rehash of “Climb That Mountain High” which I feel is a much better song. I also didn’t want this song to be a single, oops haha
Okay, but out of the uptempo songs on the album, was there really a better choice? Can you imagine if she tried to lead with "Sky Full Of Angels" or "Love Revival" If she was going to try an uptempo single from this album, thank GOD it was this song!!! Lol

Our final album track managed to worm its way betwixt the hits from the album, but now it bows out at #3. "It Just Has To Be This Way" is such a moving, powerful duet, and the intricacies of trying to manage a painful breakup without being totally unfriendly to each other are very poignant here, as is the vocal chemistry between Reba and Vince. I feel like such a flop for my rank of this song, but frankly, this album is just THAT good... I love this song, and I am not at all sad to see it be the highest album track here, even though I personally love several album tracks more!

Sean's Thoughts: 03. “It Just Has To Be This Way”: I LOVE THIS SONG! I really wish this would have been the lead single. What a great way to get Reba’s name back out there, especially with her show becoming such a hit. It has Vince on it, which would be another great boost. And then follow it up with “Somebody”…damn what a missed opportunity. Okay, moving on to the song. Reba’s duets have never failed me. And this song is a perfect example of that. I love how the lyrics express both of their feelings in such a dramatic way. “Be as cold as you can be”…like that speaks volumes to me. What a break-up song.

Last night I heard him pray, "Lord help me and momma make it through. And tell daddy we'll be ok." He said he sure misses you. He sure misses you. He really misses you. He gets that from me.
