This really is just "Small Town Boy" Part II. Since I really enjoyed that one I like this one too, I mean its insanely catchy. Not sure if I see it being big since its so close in sound to his biggest hit.

I swear, Sarah ends up as the backing vocals on a ton of “bro” country songs. Sarah's with Big Loud publishing. Some other writers include Brian Kelley, Tyler Hubbard, Chris Lane, Morgan Wallen, Matt Dragstrem and Joey Moi. Sarah sang backup on "Fix", which was sung by Chris Lane and produced by Joey Moi but I wouldn't say she's sung backup on a ton of them -- definitely part of that songwriting community though. Dustin is not a part of Big Loud but he's had his share of these sort of songs for sure. That Billboard article though...the inspiration for "Ridin' Roads" sounds lovely. "Ridin' Roads" sounds exactly like the other singles Dustin has released over the past several years. There's nothing new brought to the table; it definitely has that "Small Town Boy" feel. I haven't liked any of Dustin's singles at radio so far, expect for "Cowboys and Angels" 7 years ago, which was pretty decent. He's got a good voice but his material has been some of my least favorite songs in the genre over the past 5 years. This is another hard pass for me. |

Damn, this is really good. I loved "Small Town Boy" and think that's probably his best single to date, so this being in a similar vein is good to me. This one has some nice, notable organic flares in the production though that the previous hit didn't have. Sounds great. I'm gonna love hearing this one on the radio. She’s definitely at least the go-to female background vocal for these style songs |
