Sorry, a bit of a correction. All this time I thought I was down to 1 bottom 10, I actually had 2.
And it Starts Edition:
40. Angels of the Silences (59)---The lead singer suffered from a whiny voice at times. This did appear to be an exception. Waiting until Mr. Jones for them to reach MY top half.
39. Bittersweet Me (73)---This sounded more like typical REM than their other song, but still a far cry from their best.
38. Perry Mason (49)---This song was guilty...of making my top half. Actually appeared in an extra on my rankdown which I do plan on finishing.
37. Promise (61)---Yeah, this was my best of the three rookies who we'll never hear of again. Had a pleasant rock sound.
36. Wax Ecstatic (90)---Gave it another whirl, this still did nothing for me. Hopefully, they'll do better in 1995...
35. Open Up Your Eyes (19)---Pretty good first listen, although I think their best is If You Can Only See. *shrugs*
34. Aneurysm (51)---Alright, I think this did better than in Alternative? Can't wait until Heart Shaped Box comes up soon.
33. Drown (55)---Might have underranked this a tad. Also, I might have heard this song before. Wasn't half bad.
32. I Got Id (79)---How positively Freudian of Pearl Jam! Like I said with REM, when they provide better songs, my rankings will go up.
31. Wonderwall (6)---This song kinda got hosed a bit. As you can see, I would have given it a bit of a boost because I thought it was swell.
30. Muzzle (66)---No real change. This was the weakest of the Pumpkins entries in my opinion. I'm guessing it's going to be Pumpkins vs Pumpkins in the finale?
29. Mother Mother (12)---On the other hand, this did better even without my boost. Perhaps the scream elements helped here?
28. Big Me (3)---Down to seven top 10s now as this underrated Foo Fighters song leaves at least one day too soon.
27. Leave Me Alone (36)---And here's the other Cable Guy tune in Active. Nice first listen...Cantrell seems to deliver the goods.
26. Natural One (95)---Maybe it's because I don't like Kids the movie, or maybe it's that I don't like the song. But this left me cold.
A couple of hits, but I'm down to 7 songs in my top 10 (1, 2, 4, 7-10) and one song in my bottom 10 (91). My bottom seven songs, if cleared, would leave me with all remaining entries in my top 40. More will be revealed tomorrow!

I'm not surprised that this did worse. Less people to really boost it, especially Alex. Disappointed that it missed the top 20, but this isn't a terrible spot for it.

Almost my lowest remaining. Two songs away from only having songs in my top 30 or higher. Good luck getting one of the bottom 70s out anytime soon, though.

Personally I don't find the gap in quality between Machinehead and Glycerine to be all that much tbh, the right one still finished higher though

21. Machinehead - Bush
I like Bush more than some of the other grungy like 90's bands. Could be cuz they hail from England? maybe, but I also really enjoy Gavin's vocals. This showing up one slot shy of top 20 gives me great vibes for "Everything Zen" and Little Things". Time to get this band into the top 10.

20. Shame - Stabbing Westward
This one isn't so bad. Starts off fierce. I still have issues with his vocals in the verses, but they are not as weak here. I'm still lowest ranker tho. Go figure.
