This is gonna be Girls Like You's 38th week in Radio Songs' top 10!!!!!!!!!!!! Can it possibly have an extra edge in BDS airplay and stay in top 10 this week and tie Shape of You's all-time record??!
If Billboard publishes the all-time chart for Radio Songs (since 1990 or something), it's aiming for #1, f**k. 37+ weeks in top 10 and 16 weeks at #1 are gonna slide past SOY's 38 weeks in top 10 and 12 weeks at #1.
History-setting years in this era!
It's intriguing that Hot 100 in streaming era has always been more stable than Radio Songs, yet no song this decade has past 35 weeks in Hot 100's top 10, but 2 songs have done that in Radio Songs.
Come on, a song stay a whole year in Hot 100's top 10!

Look at SICKO MODE, probably one of the five biggest on-demand hits of the decade, it's only at #18 in its 32nd week (#7 on the overall streaming chart).

Look at SICKO MODE, probably one of the five biggest on-demand hits of the decade, it's only at #18 in its 32nd week (#7 on the overall streaming chart). But on-demand streaming was also the reason Radioactive spent 87 weeks in Hot 100... The general stability of Hot 100 after 2015 is still better than Radio Songs' (Hot 100 has more 30+ weeker in top 10 than Radio Songs). SOY and GLY were assisted by some super-nature. The fact that GLY had the best chart run in Radio Songs' history with such a middlin' peak (129m BDS audience impression) is blowing the music scene out of the water!

Does 38 weeks in the top 10 for radio actually mean anything?
In the 90s it used to when for many songs that was the only way to chart

I mean does 38 weeks in the top 10 of streaming mean anything now? You could have songs accumulate thousands of streams just from being on an automated playlist that people might not even be actually paying attention to.
It's similar to radio now.

Streaming though carries more weight
38 weeks at radio and 38 weeks on sales are basically nice stats but otherwise meaningless

You could have songs accumulate thousands of streams just from being on an automated playlist that people might not even be actually paying attention to. It's similar to radio now. It's harder to spent 30+ weeks in the streaming top 10 now than it was before the new formula. Some of the oldest songs on the Hot 100: Song | Weeks On | Hot 100 Rank | On-Demand Rank | Streaming Rank | - | SICKO MODE | 32 | 10 | 18 | 7 |
| Girls Like You | 42 | 20 | - | 35 |
| Better Now | 46 | 30 | 39 | 42 | Clearly a case of the video being trash and released too late. | Lucid Dreams | 44 | 37 | 42 | 26 |
| I Like It | 49 | 44 | 49 | - | Last week, it was #43 on the streaming chart, so it might be close to #50 this week. |
See how it's YouTube and programmed streams that really give longevity on the Hot 100. Now imagine that until June 28, YT counted the same as a paid on-demand stream.

Also, look at how streaming is more frontloaded now:
Streaming #1s:
2018: 18 2017: 8 2016: 8 2015: 6 2014: 11 2013: 9
This year, we already have five #1s in 12 weeks.

Old Town Road up to #51 this week and predicted to break the Top 40 next week, I can see this going #1 eventually. How? It had stellar US streams but still fell to #4

So of course, top 4 songs in this list are ALL from 2013-2015. Only S Mode and Closer on this entire list came out afterwards. Because... Since 2016-2017, on-demand started to take over and YouTube accounts for less than half of streaming points now. Especially after summer 2018 when Billboard further reduced YouTube’s weight. On-demand’s faster-paced, just like radio. Despacito could have a year in top 10 too if on-demand streaming’s not a thing.

HUGE yikes for wow. In one hour it’s done less than 200k views, zero promo and on top of that, it’s released on a Wednesday. The sixth day of the tracking week.

Anyone think “idontwannabeyouanymore” could re-enter this week? We’re nearing the end of the tracking week, but it just vaulted into the iTunes Top 20. This is the highest it’s been possibly ever, as far as I know. Could it pull it off?

It was bound to happen. Shallow is showing some impressive legs but it can't really make up for the lack of a new sales smash. Time for another soundtrack hit to keep older audiences buying tracks. I’m not sure we have anything in that department until frozen in November :0 Unless Elton gets a queen like boost for his movie but I’d be surprised to see half the same impact
