I don't know why they think it's cool to hate on Meg.

f**k Drake. He has some nerve criticizing any other artist's album after his last few abominations, and the shooting line is beyond pathetic. I can't believe how embarrassing he's become.

My hearts always out for her with how parts of the industry truly are trying to bring her down, especially after reading her statements in court. Also Traumazine is a slept on albeit not amazing but good album.
Anxiety, Ungrateful, NDA, Plan B, Scary, Her, Sweetest Pie, and Budget all are great stuff and its a better cohesive project than Good News but the highs aren't as high as Good News.

"Should've let them lock your ass up" being manifested today is so iconic.

I didn't follow the case close enough to have an opinion, but it's relieving to see Tory Lanez's crazy ass getting what he deserved. I can't believe it took even 2 years.

I haven't followed this case either but I know there was a lot of skepticism around Megan's allegations. Why though? From what I know she made it publicly known that she was shot on her feet which is a very specific claim that can be backed up by physical evidence. If she wanted to wrongfully accuse that man of sth wouldn't she find something more abstract?

I haven't followed this case either but I know there was a lot of skepticism around Megan's allegations. Why though? From what I know she made it publicly known that she was shot on her feet which is a very specific claim that can be backed up by physical evidence. If she wanted to wrongfully accuse that man of sth wouldn't she find something more abstract? Misogynoir and slut shaming within the black "community" is an epidemic, and I fear an incurable one. That's the short answer. The longer answer is that initially, the police report that Megan had lacerations on her feet, caused by glass, trickled out. Megan did step on some broken glass and was pictured limping at the scene. However, during surgery, bullet shards were found in both feet, confirming that she had indeed been shot. For some reason those surgery results didn't spread across social media at the same rate word of her stepping on glass did, and Tory's immediate claim was that Megan didn't get shot at all. So a lot of people never knew that her being shot was admissible fact, chose to believe Tory and refused to budge from that - even when his legal defense changed by necessity from "Megan was never shot" to "Kelsey shot Megan" at the start of the trial, even when more evidence was presented, even when it became clear that Tory's own witnesses were haplessly confirming that they saw him shoot Meg, and even when it became clear that gossip blogs were just making s**t up as they went along and smearing Megan's name for clicks. "Women lie/everyone just wants to hold the black man down" was the narrative. Most if not all of those blogs are likely going to get sued out of existence in 2023, deservedly so, for slander and shoddy "reporting" that wasn't actual reporting at all. None of those bloggers attended the trial, they posted no facts from anyone who did attend, and some of them willfully posted out of context snippets of what happened in court to play Tory up as innocent. People who only casually follow celeb gossip wouldn't know any better than to go off what they're reading. Journalism is damn near dead. There were a few reporters fighting the good fight on Twitter though (Meghann Cuniff was great; people started calling her Meghann Thee Reporter lol). *one correction to the struck out part above, bc I forgot this until just now - Megan went on IG live (I think this was maybe a month later?) bc she eventually got fed up with Daystar dragging her name all over the place, and she revealed that when the police showed up she said that she stepped on glass bc the police were being extremely aggressive with everyone, even her, despite her obviously bleeding. The police report was just an officer writing down what they were told when LAPD arrived on the scene. Megan didn't want to say that there was a gun in the car bc she didn't want the police to just start shooting everybody (this was right after George Flloyd so she was not trying to chance any f**kery). She was even kind of cagey when the doctors took x-rays and said 'oh, you got bullets in your feet' because she thought the doctors were the police too, or working with them. I've been team Meg from the start and even I let her originally covering for him completely slip my mind so I can only imagine how many other people didn't even see that. That's just how much black social media completely buried and ignored anything Megan or the police said immediately after the event.

Just came here to say I always believed Meg. She’s a genuinely sweet and good person. Anyone with good discernment will see she was telling the truth.
I love Meg so much and she has a big heart. I can’t imagine what’s she’s been through these past couple of years.
Drake is a piece of s**t for adding fuel to the fire with that song.
I feel like Meg’s next era is going to be really freaking amazing she’s probably itching to put some of these pathetic rap boys on blast. God Bless Hot Girl Meg.

The last 2 years have confirmed that "media" and society are ignorant. This discourse has been painful to watch. I cannot believe that the person who got shot has been the most vilified and bullied.
