This week is a great example of the confusion caused when you open a Hot 100 thread 4 days before the previous week's chart is revealed. No one knows where to look, people are wondering about the new chart is in the wrong thread⦠We were OK for 15 years without all these competing threads. It's quite funny. Tradition doesn't mean much. Big debuts are becoming the norm more and more over the years thanks to stuff like album bombs and multimedia Day 1 rollouts, and people are buzzing like crazy about the prospects for the debuts for next week like Cool and Kill This Love along with stuff like the effect of Old Town Road's remix. You expect them to discuss said prospects on a thread that has nothing to do with it? In my days of watching these threads, it was already looking a little off in 2015, and by 2018 it was just getting ridiculous, which is why I pushed for the threads to start with the tracking week. |

^ the chart week for next week already started tho... Yeah but all of that info trickling in doesnβt result in a completed and published chart for ten days after the tracking begins. The only thing the tracking is good for is predictions and by the time the official chart is published, nobody cares anymore because theyβve moved on to predicting the next chart. I legitimately wonder whether those who frequent these threads actually look at the Hot 100 once it gets published... for real. |

damn looking at the date is so hard am i right Or just discuss the current week in Hot 100, and projections for next week in 1 thread. Then the next week do the same in the next. What's the need for 2 separate simultaneous threads to discuss what's currently popular. We have to go to 1 thread to discuss how SICKO MODE is doing this week, then another to discuss how it will do next week as a result? It's too much confusion, re-bumping, and intermingling with 2 active threads at once. I don't see how that would make things less complicated. Having threads sorted by chart date is pretty easy, and knowing what info/comment belongs in which thread is not nearly as hard as having to explain what chart week/projection you're talking about in each post. Imma have to pass on this idea with all due respect |

May be a dumb question but can someone explain why delays happen. I remember it happened recently in Shallowβs week too.
Like, the tracking week ends on Thursday, so they have 3 days prior to Monday to tabulate the numbers. Maybe Iβm thinking about it wrong. I thought they just throw in all the numbers into a computer and it bangs the list out.

Nobody here is working in Billboard offices compiling the charts so there's no way to know exactly why they make take 2 extra hours to reveal the top 10 one week lol. Airplay week doesn't end til Sunday, so they don't finish the final chart until Monday. Waiting for some final info, typing up the Top 10 article late, etc probably are reasons for when its a little late. At the same time they don't have a concrete set time they ever reveal charts like UK (always Friday at 5 pm UK time) so its not like they are technically 'late' either. |

I know the culture is to get the top ten reveal then off to predicting the next one. There are more than ten songs out there though. |

I guess I fall into the category of people that like to predict but I also like to discuss about past charts. For example, I noticed lovely by Billie Eilish managed to get a 21st week on the chart despite being only at #96. Not a very common thing to happen. Also that means when the party's over has likely been charting below top 100 since it went recurrent.

Because regardless of the fact there's 2 threads active at once to seperate this week/next week discussion, each thread still ends up discussing both weeks due to confusion of most posters. There misewell just be 1 thread, if the purpose of 2 threads at once isn't even working efficiently. People are just going to keep going into both threads discussing the wrong week. |

Billie Eilish debuted 4 songs in the top 10 in Australia in the most current chart update and has now had 6 different songs enter the Australian top 10 in 2019. Imagine if she had the same star power here.

So I was trying to find info on the Hot 100 this week and got one at least... God's Country by Blake Shelton is the new #1 on Digital Song Sales, dethroning Shallow. It's gonna be interesting to find out where it landed on the Hot 100.

Travis released a Sicko Mode bundle (much like he did a few months ago), along with another Fortnite concert (like Happier) that propelled it back to #1. Old Town Road must not have done well enough on streaming (this tracking week doesn't count the remix), but I'm sure it will get there next week! |
