The track, which was premiered on SNL on March 30, 2019, was released on April 12, 2019. A new version of the song, which is shorter than the previously one, was included in the album.

"Borderline" ended up being my favourite off the album. I'm glad they reworked the song; I think I like it better this way.

I still love this song, but I much prefer the first version of it. The reworked version isn't bad by any means but it just doesn't sound as smooth. And I also prefer the length of the original.
