Hopefully, this is the final song released before the album. 3 more weeks...

It is pretty funny to me that the start of this thread is all about how refreshing this song is and that is was a good single pick and then when the (predictably) bad call-out scores are released now everyone hates it. For me, it's a good song and a good single. Her best? No. Her worst? Hell no. But very catchy and very fun. The new album also sounds amazing, and would actually argue that is is a return to the sound she found most of her commercial success with. I do, however, agree, she has already made her impact and will be a Country Music HOFer without question, so any more radio success for her is the cherry on top. Is it the same people? I always hated this! I like all the other 20 or so pre-release tracks more.

I love this song, I think it was a solid choice.
Miranda has never really been super consistent with radio, so even if this one stalls I wouldn't say that's indicative of anything. She can get a multi-week #1 smash with single two.

That song structure is too Jack Ingram to be Miranda's own song...

I hate to say it but this one is stalling out in the teens. "It All Comes Out In the Wash" lost 36 spins and 300k in audience in today's Mediabase update. It barely kept a bullet this week by gaining 40 spins but lost 500k in total audience. Miranda's basically gained no audience the past month at MB. The reason is testing. "It All Comes Out In the Wash" is last in songs with enough familiarity to be seen in the free Mediabase callout rankings, with a 25% dislike...which is very high. Really, anything over 20% is looked at as high but 25% is when songs start to see effects on the chart. It's also testing super low in net positive with just 35% -- compare that to "Prayed for You" at 70%. Testing can be used too much to a fault but unfortunately, the testing numbers for this one are so bad it's enough for conversions to stop at many stations. I really like this one but the moment I heard it, I knew that it could end up becoming a poor researched single.

Lame. I’ve heard this less and less on the country station they play at work so I didn’t take that as a good sign of it doing that well at radio. Hopefully they make the right choice with the second single.

Disappointing that this has poor callout, because it is such a jam to hear on the radio. It's definitely one of my favorite singles of 2019, anyway. With the album out in just a few weeks, I would love to see it at least hold on long enough to reach the top 20 on the Hot Country Songs chart and crack the Hot 100 (I imagine that when the album drops it would have a chance to do both things). I was rooting for this to at least get her back in the top 10 at country radio, but it did seem like this still went over pretty well with radio despite the callout causing it to stall out, so I'm optimistic about the second single doing better, provided they pick the right song.

Mess With My Head, please! (I'll settle for Bluebird unless one of the other 7 songs we haven't heard is amazing).

This song grew on me over time but it definitely is one of my lesser-liked singles of hers, and out of the 3 (out of like 300) other pre-release tracks I've heard, Bluebird was my favorite. I wonder how well that one would do at radio as the second single; it sounds nice for the fall/winter time imo. Again, I have a system that I listen to (at most) 4 tracks before an album so that I can be immersed in the entire body of work, so because of that I've only heard IACOITW, Locomotive, Bluebird and WTPFP. So there's probably a much better song than Bluebird hiding in the album somewhere but for now if they go with single #2 I personally would like Bluebird.
It's nice to be a Top 20 hit, but I wish IACOITW would at least hit #10 so Miranda could get back in the Top 10 at country radio. Then again, as someone else said, she's at the point in her career where radio success is just icing on the cake for her.

I was getting Vice vibes from this song which isn't a bad thing in my opinion. It's a shame that it's not doing as well as it could be because it's a fun single.

I loved this from first listen, but my infatuation with it has only grown with time. It's constantly stuck in my head and I think right now I'd say it's probably my favorite country single of 2019. I just can't get enough of it. It's just so much fun, from the lyrics to the delivery to the music video. All great. I'm so excited to pick up Wildcard tomorrow.

Pretty sure this song is almost done. I would imagine now that the album is out that they’ll want a second single put to radio soon before the Christmas freeze.

It's sad the lack of support from radio Miranda is receiving in the latest years. I was more hopeful with this one. But it's ok, she's still delevering country music with quality and at least she got some acclaim for it.
I hope "Settling Down" to be the next single from this new awesome era.

They're trying to get this to the top 10 at least but it's been hard with its testing. I know we hear about it often but it's the single reason it has stalled so much. "It All Comes Out in the Wash" has the highest negative score at MB callout at nearly over 26% and the lowest net positive score at 33%. It's been just about as polarizing as "Little Red Wagon" was a few years back and mirrors the chart run of "Vice" from three years ago, even to the point of release and eventual peak. Miranda's album release last week helped a bit since she's gained 150 spins since Sunday and over 200 the past seven days but I'm sure corporate programming wants to drop this one as soon as possible, which is shame since it's a fun song.

It's also in a bad spot in the chart right now. It's already fallen to 16th on BB, so a top 10 there seems like a real long shot. On MB, it will lose the album bump next week, and has three fast rising songs behind it. On the other hand, she's likely to struggle with whatever is released next, so the label might not have much incentive to drop it. And unlike Vice, this song also hasn't been an exceptionally song seller (or streamer), so it's harder to argue that radio should be playing it & ignoring call-out.

I wonder how safe they’ll play it with the next single. I think Bluebird is the most obvious choice considering how polarizing this song has been but I also think Mess With My Head (“electronic effects” be damned) is the catchiest record on the album and would stand out on radio (plus it’s short runtime begs for repeated listens/streams).

I really think these two should be the next singles, in either order. I was originally feeling like "Mess with My Head" should be second, but now I'm starting to feel like "Bluebird" would be best cause I think it sounds perfect for the colder months.

These are my thoughts exactly. It also seems like she's highlighting "Bluebird" more at the moment too, with a few TV performances.

I wasn’t sold on “Bluebird” initially, but it has really grown on me and I think it’s actually more radio friendly than “It All Comes Out In The Wash”. Whatever they pick, I hope it’s not too much of a chore for radio to convert.

I think the Grammys typically love Miranda, so not too surprised.
