It absolutely does, but I’m disappointed that it’s like this.

It was either this artificial and manipulated push or the label probably doesn't get #1 on either chart with this song, as I doubt Ingrid was gonna be able to wait out Morgan Wallen, and Blake/Gwen for a shot at #1, given the age of the song and how long it has been in the Top 10 rotation.

Yep, exactly. I completely understand why it happened, and I’m sure I would have done the same thing, but it makes it less of an impressive accomplishment.

I’d probably feel worse about the push if the song had really bad sales & streams but this has really held its own on those fronts. Not as high numbers as songs like “I Hope”, “Chasin’ You” or “Nobody But You” but definitely good enough! Glad she made it to the top on MB!

Honestly this is a really strong song, it would normally have made #1 without any real manipulation. It was just sandwiched in between some massive hits. Luckily, two of those songs were on its label so it was able to get the #1 anyways.

Any ideas what the next single may be? If she releases "Lady Like" to radio, I will be ecstatic. It's such a great song.

I have this feeling that it's between "Lady Like" and "Both" for the second single. "The Stranger" is exceptional though and the best thing I've heard from her yet, and it did just get a music video, so I would be ecstatic if they went with that one instead. It's weird, because while I don't quite hear another obvious smash on the album, I also feel like she could probably release anything except "Bad Advice" to radio and it do decently well. I have high hopes for this girl.

I also really love "Life of the Party." I can see that fitting into country radio well thematically.

I really hope it isn't "Lady Like" as that songs verses would sound very polarizing on radio (more spoken word than singing), where as I think "Both" and especially "The Stranger" could do very well. I also think "The Stranger" making an appearance on the HCS definitely could encourage the label to push it as the second single.

Since The Stranger is in some streaming playlists already, I can see the record label testing water before sending it to radio.

Personally I’d like it to be The Stranger. It’s such a stunning, standout song. Lady Like would be my second choice.

Peaks at #3 on Billboard Country Airplay Songs. A solid showing, even if it didn't get that #1.

It did though hit #1 on the Mediabase 24/7 country chart however, unless if the label is planning to make a big push to try to get to that #1 spot next week. We'll see what happens...

Yeah, I was referring to the Billboard chart where it's probably done. It did quite well and could even make the overall year end list for 2020 which would be very impressive for a debut country single.

Allow me to expound upon a previous suggestion:
In an ideal world, "Life of the Party" would be released to radio and achieve success. I think that would be a pivotal move for a female country artist as it mimics the thematic elements of many successful singles touted by her male counterparts. Like "Southbound" boasted a decidedly female take on 'bro-country,' "Life of the Party" is the female equivalent of the standard male-driven breakup-and-booze narrative and in direct (and excellent) contrast to Dierks Bentley's "Different For Girls."

This is excellent commentary... may have even got me on board with pushing "Life of the Party". I suppose the same could be said for "Lady Like". I'm still on the "Both" train... mostly because I am so nervous for Ingrid's long term success. Of the Gabby/Ingrid duo that have just risen to success, I am worried radio will only latch on to one (which will be Gabby). I'd be ecstatic to be wrong.
