For Carrie Underwood, I almost feel it depends with when one started listening to her? While for many, BHC/JTTW is her signature song - I know a lot of people who consider BA or even SITW her signature song because that’s when they discovered/really tuned into her discography.

You could make an argument for both "rockstar" and "Circles" being worthy as Post Malone's signature songs. Girl who even remembers post has a song called rockstar

I know it went to number one but I didn't even know it was a hit until a few years ago Unfortunately, people do remember that song and they butcher it. Thata why I dont like it cause everytime someone mentions Beauty and The Beast they sing that song. Yuck!

hers is easily Before He Cheats I don't know, maybe it's different in other regions of the world, but the frequency at which I hear or see people reference JTTW is equal to or greater than BHC. Jesus The The Wheel has a far greater cultural impact than Before He Cheats, but it transcends either Carrie or the song itself. Purely from a song point of view it's definitely Before he Cheats. Yeah, for Carrie it's both. She's a perfect example of what this thread was intended for. In the sphere of country music, they pretty much share the signature song spotlight for her. For non-country fans, the distinction clearly favors "Cheats."

The audacity to mention current artists.
It takes at least a decade after initial impact to know if a song has become "signature," anything else is just media hype by a marketing team.
Hence why Thriller is Michael Jackson's signature without being one of his biggest chart hits.

Madonna has so many: Like a Virgin Material Girl Like a Prayer Vogue Hung Up Candyshopwhat a list. You had me until you mentioned "Candy Shop" lol. Maybe she reworked it on her tours and it caught on later, but I'm only familiar with the album version. For Madonna, you could probably through in "Holiday."

I would say Carrie Underwood with Before He Cheats and Jesus Take The Wheel hers is easily Before He Cheats I'm assuming you're saying this because it was a big crossover hit? I would say JTTW is more recognizable to her core audience.

Replace sign of the times with Watermelon Sugar Y’all confusing signature song with this boy’s only hits. 🤣 This, but also some of these artists are also just too new to be discussed here IMO. As in, we don't know if these songs will even be remembered 10 years from now. It might be like asking now, "What's the signature song for The Jets?" God knows I love them, but...

In a general/pop culture sense “BHC” is definitely Carrie’s signature song.
