Mediabase/Radio & Records Christian chart is actually the longest chart in existence. It started in 1978 I believe and I still going today. I will start listing the #1 songs soon but only until June 2009 and the current ones. My goal right now is to find the #1 singles from June 09 until present day. If anyone knows anyone that has a subscription to Mediabase or knows where I can find the missing #1’s please let me know!

There's a (nearly) complete online archive of R&R at AmericanRadioHistory.com. Before that the charts were handled by CCM Magazine, then MusicLine/MusclineUpdate/The CCM Update. There was a bit of overlap were CCM and R&R had charts but on April 5, 2002 CCM stopped publishing and moved to R&R. The pre-2002 CCM charts are pretty much unavailable online. There are two books with partial archives (Hot Hits by Jeffery Lee Brothers - one with all AC songs from 1978-2001, one very rare one with CHR songs from 1978-1997). The Inspirational, Rock, and Country ones are not available in any form AFAIK aside from copies of the newspapers. Apparently the Center for Popular Music at Middle Tennessee State University has all of the issues and that might be the only complete set on earth. Best of luck in finding this - it's a huge chunk of CCM history that's basically lost to us.
