Page 1 and this thing already devolved into a race discussion. Never change people. Anyways out of all the recent collabs, I can say that exactly zero brought out anything new to the table. The Ed/Bieber track in particular feels like a remake of their previous hits. Will probably still get a top 5 peak.

This is pretty cool. The author(s) is only up to like 1974. I will be much more interested when they get to the 80s/90s that I was actually alive for. Of course, past the early 90s the list will move much faster since songs started to park at #1 for many weeks.

3.1m day one Spotify for I Don’t Care. Could debut number 1 if it holds well, but if it craters like Me! it will debut at 2.

even if it holds on spotify it won't debut at #1..... OTR has the lead on apple.. which will cancel off the spotify lead.. old town road has the edge on youtube and radio.

there’s increasing pop representation in the top 10/20 of Spotify. 2019 could be a small comeback for pop.

Take out OTR and all the #1 hits of the year would have been Pop songs, except for "Wow." (which would have hit #1). "ME!" would have also hit #1. Other pop tracks like "bad guy", "Dancing with a Stranger", "Sweet But Psycho" and "Talk" are all doing really well too. Don't let the juggernaut at #1 deceive you, Pop is finally increasing it's presence on streaming services.

Maybe even country music is starting to do better on streaming too, according to a post on the first page there’s one quite high on Apple Music at the moment. But we’ll have to wait a few months to see if it’s a trend or a one off. Body Like a Back Road did well on streaming but that was a unique case.

Yeah, "I Don't Care" will debut at #2, it's hard to compete with OTR without a music video. Also, wow at Lil Nas, he blocked Taylor and Post, and he will block Justin and Ed too.

With the way JB/Ed are currently bleeding on iTunes, Lil Nas is a front runner for #1 currently.

I'm completely done with OTR, why can't the rest of America? It was cute for a few weeks, but the meme got stale and it's not that great of a song if we're going to be honest here. If this gets anywhere close to Mimi and JB's record, they better pull something because I'm not having this be a 16-week #1. Hopefully, I Don't Care can squeak into #1 with a lot of luck.

When was the last time Billboard’s top 40 had as many non feature collaborations as it does now?

Didn't notice that OTR remix version was #4 and 'bad guy' was #3 on US spotify. Even more impressive is that 'Bad guy'is still doing 6 million worldwide

Why aren't people screaming FLOP and OVER to Ed Sheeran/Bieber when they fail to dethrone OTR Divide was way more successful than Reputation, so he's coming from even bigger era.

You have to consider black Americans often already have significant European ancestry due to slavery. As such, biracial black/white Americans are often majority white. And I wouldn't say he looks "pure" white, but race is a social construct anyway. Thanks for the history lesson, buddy. Cuz that's got nothing to do with music. Get over it, ya hoser.

OTR rose to 2.8m streams on spotify yesterday while IDC fell to 2.1m. And it's already selling 84% of IDC on iTunes. OTR has the #1 on lock this week

"OTR" is obviously big, but I'd say these other records have disappointed a bit, too. The reactions to "Me" and "IDC" have been mixed, and Post Malone didn't really have a peak week.

Lol Taylor’s hardcore on first-week. It’s the first time for nearly a decade she failed at #1. Ed Sheeran’s more like just starting out after divide, and about longevity. LWYMMD did double of Shape of You’s first week points. IDC’s not just gonna pull another Hello ye know. Its Spotify numbers has more lead compared to Shape of You, so I ain’t gon’t complain. Based on what I observe about pop bars, on iTunes it has about 30% advantage over Shape of You in first 2 days. Solid start for Ed. The melody’s f**king awesome, especially the chorus. Taylor and Ed are both hardcore salesperson it seems like, so in this era Hot 100 points are not gon’ make it shine. IDC won’t even pass 50,000 points on its first week.

Disappointing second day for IDC on Spotify & iTunes.

Seems like fans of both Ed and Justin rushed to give IDC a listen (for obvious reasons), but a song's steam dying down a day or two after it's release always says a lot about people's true reception to it. I haven't said anything about IDC till now, but it's as basic a collaboration as those two could have drummed up. It's predictable and generally just isn't a good song. Moments like this teach me not to expect too much from high profile collaborations because they mostly disappoint.

What’s My Name; Work; Take Care and Too Good are all classics. HEHE.
