The correct choice! I'm thinking this one can catch on faster than "Here Tonight" did! Also dang it I wanted to start the thread

Perfect choice! I think this will be another big smash for him and I also believe it'll have a quicker run up the charts as KanenrĂĄ:ke implicated.

Eh, I'm not that big on this one. Would have preferred "Ticket To L.A." or "Don't Wanna Write This Song"

Someone really needs to tell Brett about Uber/Lyft. This is the 2nd song of his that mentions a taxi/cab ("Sleep Without You," being the other). I don't know one single person who has caught a cab in the last 5 years. For that reason, this song sounds dated to me.
I like it, but it is not even close to as good as the songs on his first album were. That said, I think this is a hit and was an obvious choice for the next single.

I don't think taxis/cabs have even come close to being an obsolete thing, lol, at least not where I live. I see them all over town and they usually have people in them. Uber and Lyft are definitely more popular options now, but I still see taxi's as a viable form of transportation that people use so them getting mentioned in a song doesn't really make the song itself sound dated to me. Anyway, "Catch" is a pretty good song. I don't think I'd listen to it as actively and often as I did with "Mercy" or "Here Tonight" but I definitely don't dislike it, and although I'm still not a fan of his voice, I'm not that bothered by it in this song. The album didn't really stand out to me one way or the other, but this song did a bit.

I just used a taxi service over the weekend. There are lots of parts of both the country and the world where Uber/Lyft are really not viable options. As for the song, YAYYYYYY I WAS HOPING THIS WOULD BE NEXT.

Not my favorite, but a good option as a single. As long as we get Used To Missin' You as a single some time down the road, then I'm fine :)

This was the perfect choice for the second single. Easily a smash.

To add to that, I think 'taxi' is a term that kind of transcends just the traditional yellow cab. Like, an Uber/Lyft is basically just a modern day version of a taxi for the younger crowd, but I don't feel like the lyrics in the song seem antiquated in their current state and would have been altered dramatically if they'd been switched out for a line about one of the ride-sharing apps instead. The concept of a 'taxi' is something that isn't really going away even if its overall popularity wanes, so it doesn't make its use feel dated to me, personally.

And like carriekins, in a lot of the country, taxis are still the norm. But to me, they're not and haven't been for years. I was speaking more in a personal sense than anything else. :)

Glad to see this one off to a surprisingly quick start already at country radio. Seems like they made the right choice going with this one next. I'm hoping it climbs the charts much quicker than "Here Tonight" did.

Been having this one stuck in my head for the past few days. I feel like this could be a huge one for him and I'd expect it to go much faster than "Here Tonight".

Second most added song with 45 adds and 49 total stations. Solid start for this song especially with the airplay debut.

Very solid start for this one. Radio is obviously really behind him but I have a feeling they weren't as enthusiastic about "Here Tonight" and that was why it had such a slow climb. This one feels more like a hit to me so I can see it going much faster.

Great music video. I expected them to take a more usual approach with the lyrics and have it take place in a bar, but I like that they went with telling his story instead and having the full circle moment for him at the end.

OMG. This is my personal favorite from the album, which is saying a lot since it's such a strong album. I hope it will become a big hit.

This one doesn't seem to be taking off for some reason. It is without a bullet on tonight's BB Airplay chart and without a bullet. I hope this can pick up soon!

This one doesn't seem to be taking off for some reason. It is without a bullet on tonight's BB Airplay chart and without a bullet. I hope this can pick up soon! A dozen songs from #42 to #60 on Billboard Airplay were without a bullet this week. Theyâre still pushing this song and it will get higher. Itâs not blazing up the chart though. Iâm not as fond of this one as others are, itâs pretty average. Also, BMLG sent out a RadioTraks survey asking input on both âCatchâ and âDonât Wanna Write This Song.â The plan is to release âDonât Wanna Write This Songâ next. They wanted to compare the reactions from both songs.

On Friday he dropped an EP called The Acoustic Sessions that featured 4 tracks from his last album:
Charles Kelley is featured on "Here Tonight" and Sean McConnell appears on "Don't Wanna Write This Song."

Sean McConnell is such an amazing talent. His own albums are incredible. And he hands a lot to that song he co-wrote! FWIW, he also wrote âMercyâ with Brett.

Totally unrelated to âCatchâ, but I just realized that Brett Young is older than every member of Lady Antebellum (who have had a presence at country radio since 2007) which is kind of shocking to me...
Now onto something related to âCatchâ: Itâs finally showing signs of life after being relatively stagnant for 3 months and I think itâs still young enough to reach the top 5, but I think it has damaged his standing at radio quite a bit. I think itâs a possibility that this could just be a âLove Winsâ situation, since Brett and his wife are expecting and thus he probably hasnât been able to promote it like normal (probably not a great comparison though, considering Carrie was bearing a child and Brett isnât).
