Totally unrelated to “Catch”, but I just realized that Brett Young is older than every member of Lady Antebellum (who have had a presence at country radio since 2007) which is kind of shocking to me... Now onto something related to “Catch”: It’s finally showing signs of life after being relatively stagnant for 3 months and I think it’s still young enough to reach the top 5, but I think it has damaged his standing at radio quite a bit. I think it’s a possibility that this could just be a “Love Wins” situation, since Brett and his wife are expecting and thus he probably hasn’t been able to promote it like normal (probably not a great comparison though, considering Carrie was bearing a child and Brett isn’t). *sigh* It's a boring but inoffensive song that'll probably sleep its way into the top 10, peak at #4, be forgotten quickly and leave him with no momentum. No one would miss this song if it didn't exist, no one searches for this song, it just comes on the radio, we hear it, it blends into the background, yada yada yada. We know the story. "One Little Town" would've been a much better single. Hopefully there's better music next album.

I never sigh at Regular Folks. I sigh at boring music that sleeps its way up the charts on name recognition, lol.

I don’t find this boring at all, easily my second favourite from him now. I think the problem is the lead killed a lot of momentum. This would’ve done better coming off a quicker climb.

I agree- this is excellent but the lead single was just OK and definitely killed some momentum for him. I wish this was the lead and "Used to Missing You" came second. We all know "I Don't Wanna Write This Song" is next, and will probably move at a much faster clip.

This will wind up doing fine -- despite a sluggish start at radio, it's still been moving the needle for fans decently well and he's in a good spot to keep scoring hits at radio even if they climb slower -- and like austin said, his next single will be the "Mercy" moment of the record and should probably fly up the charts pretty quickly when they get it out there.

I love everything about this song and think it screamed hit the first time I heard it. It was clearly the standout track of an otherwise lackluster album for me when I first listened to it. I've since also grown to love "I Don't Wanna Write This Song", but I agree that it was "Here Tonight", rather than "Catch", that weakened Brett's relationship with radio. I think this will pick up on other metrics as radio spins it some more because of the unique play on words and catchy melody of this song. I especially a catchy midtempo doing well on radio in the fall and winter months. Glad this is picking up the pace because it deserves to be a hit, imo.

I like "Catch" better than "Here Tonight" but neither do a ton for me, unlike the singles off his debut album.
This one should pick up the pace a bit more as we go into Q4 and likely peak by Q1. Both of his sophomore album singles have had very slow climbs though. I echo the sentiments that they went with the wrong choice for the first single. "Here Tonight" was a solid, long-climbing #1 hit but it didn't do a ton for his long-term career.

I guess I'll be in the minority that thinks "Here Tonight" is his best single, lol.

The interest for this song on YouTube is quite low as well, just as it was for the previous single here tonight. In Case You Didn't Know, Like I Loved You and Mercy all ammassed at least 10 million views in their first 2 months on youtube, this one is up since June I think and it has barely ammassed 1.4 million views...

Officially enters the Mediabase Top 30 at #29 with a bullet of 57. Not bad, but this song has just had such a slow climb for so long since it is getting close to 5 months since it went for adds and this is just now getting into the Top 30.
I do think this song will probably start picking up the pace now that it is in the Top 30 and this song has some solid footing and depending upon timing should get #1. That being said I am kind of shocked that so many people love this song and felt like it was gonna be a huge hit from a radio and sales perspective. Even from a first listen back in June this song felt like a song that would have a marathon esque chart run to the Top 5.

If anything else in the album is to have success, I feel it is Used To Missin' You, so I hope that is next. Catch, while a great song, never fully won me over, so I can see why it is struggling. That said, I want it to get that number one smash! lol

"Catch" enters the top 20 on Billboard on its 27th week (21-20) and is on the cusp of the top 20 on Mediabase at #21. I'm hoping this can go all the way as I love this song (a standout from his sophomore album which I found to be pretty underwhelming compared to his debut). I wonder if BMLG will try to go for another single after this or move on, which also depends on how soon he is planning on releasing music. If there is a third single from the album, it most likely won't peak until the end of 2020 which would already be two years from the release of Ticket to L.A., so maybe they might move on after this one and try to regain some momentum with the lead single from his next album?

I think we're guaranteed a third single from this project at least, and it'll most likely be "Don't Wanna Write This Song." I could see that song connecting in a way that "In Case You Didn't Know" and "Mercy" did for him off the first album and it might have a bit of a quicker run up the charts, so I wouldn't even rule out a fourth single depending on how it ultimately does. But yeah, I'm not really expecting to see them move on from Ticket to L.A. so quickly.

The label has been planning on "Don't Wanna Write This Song" was the next single. Last album it was "Memory Won't Let Me", and now "Used To Missing You". I guess I don't have luck in getting my favorite songs released.

"Used To Missing You" definitely should have been a single, but you can't deny "Don't Wanna Write This Song".

Never thought a Brett Young single would need almost 52 weeks to peak. This might be the best time to move on to album #3

This might be the best time to move on to album #3 It’s only (in country radio terms lol) 36 weeks old, but otherwise totally agreed. A third single (even the stellar “Don’t Wanna Write This Song”) would probably suffer at radio because of the performance of “Catch” and the album is already more than a year old.

I just think "Here Tonight" fucked up this albums momentum and this song also just never seemed to generate much buzz (evident by the YouTube Music Video having less than 2 and a half million views despite being released over 7 months ago). What stinks for Brett Young is that he had probably one of the best debut album eras I have seen in a long time (evident by both "In Case You Didn't Know" and "Mercy" making the year end Hot 100 in 2017 and 2018 respectively) but "Here Tonight" pretty much cooled off a lot of his momentum from his debut era and this song will pretty much be forgotten of within a year or two at most by most fans.
I do think the label is gonna opt for "Don't Even Wanna Write This Song" as the third single from the album, but this era has been kind of underwhelming and while not as bad as other sophomore slumps (Kip Moore and especially Hunter Hayes had some of the worst sophomore slumps after successful debut albums) I don't really see any of the singles from this album having much longevity and whatever the third single will be is definitely gonna scream "placeholder for lead single eventually".

I doubt that they move on from this album after this peaks and still expect them to release "Don't Wanna Write This Song," because I can imagine that one being another career type hit for him like ICYDK and "Mercy" from his debut, but I can see them stopping after that and then going for new music in 2021.

He is the type of artist that has well-known singles but "nobody cares" self. You would think his Twitter followers count would be a lot higher than 200k because the two singles did so well but his is not even higher than Morgan Wallen's.

Enters the Mediabase Top 5 passing Maren Morris, Jordan Davis, and Jason Aldean, as "Catch" really surged this week and looks like a safe bet for #1.

After five straight singles that peaked at either #2 or #3 on the Hot Country Songs chart, this one looks like it might not even reach the top 10 there. Possibly his lowest on the Hot 100 too as its only reached #61 so far and all his other hits made the top 50 there. Definitely unfortunate that this one didn't perform better for him. I hope if "Don't Wanna Write This Song" is still the plan for the next single that it reinvigorates his commercial draw. It has some of the highest streaming numbers for anything else on the album, aside from "Chapters."

The song may be underperforming on HCS and the Hot 100 but I'm glad this one managed to surge on Mediabase! (Not sure about Billboard since I'm not a Pro member and don't have the money for it) Hoping it gets an official week at #1 as I really love this song!

This is one of those times where I fucking hate the timing of songs hitting #1 as I am so annoyed that this is all but a lock for #1 on both charts. While "More Hearts Than Mine" that has sold better it's whole run, is testing decently well and streaming far better than this nothing of a song. This song is so lucky it has the timing it does being next to another nothing of a hit ("Slow Dance In A Parking Lot").
I still wonder where Brett Young goes from here, obviously they are probably gonna release "Don't Wanna Write This Song" but it is not a 100% locked thing it will succeed commercially as I can easily see the song doing about as well as this one did commercially or a bit better. Just seems like all of Brett Young's momentum from his debut album is gone.

I honestly think Jordan is gonna take Billboard but that’s just my opinion. This looks like it’s gonna get 2 weeks at #1 after Jordan though.
