After listening to the new album in full I have to say I’m not that impressed. The only song that I could see being released as a single after this one is “Gone West”. I really had high expectations for the group too. It’s my least favorite album of 2020 so far.

It looks like this one is finally done. After going recurrent (again) last week on Billboard, it lost over 700 spins this week on Mediabase, and continues to lose on the daily updates. I would loved to have seen this go to the top of the charts, but considering it has stayed basically flat on the charts for the last 6 months, it is time to move on.

I think Slow Down or Knew You should be the second single.

I think Slow Down or Knew You should be the second single. I think it absolutely needs to be Slow Down. one thing I came across in recent days though is that via the radio.com app I sometimes listen to a station called “k-frog next” and their focus is basically “future” hits. Anyways a few days ago they actually played R&R(track 10 from Canyons). Now, I have no idea if this is indicative of what their plan is, but i just kinda went hmmmm when I heard that. I like R&R, but I do believe their best chance at a hit stands with Slow Down as IMO its the most radio friendly song on the album. Hopefully we will see something official very soon!

http://instagram.com/p/CDzPWiHgqTP Colbie Caillat announced that Gone West disbanded. What a shame :( But I didn't know she and Justin Young broke up earlier this year, so it makes sense the group didn't work out. I thought they would have a great future on country radio.

Wow, I was literally JUST listening to Canyons like 30 mins ago and wondering if them not having a follow-up single out yet was a bad sign given that Colbie and Justin had ended their relationship not long ago. Like I almost came online to inquire about them not releasing a new single yet so I kinda saw this news coming, sadly. It's a shame because the group had real promise imo and they made some great music together. Glad that they got to release the album at least.

Wow :'( Now I see what the deal with was them taking their time sending a follow-up single... They were one of my favorite up-and-coming groups so it hurts to lose them but agree with indulge that I'm glad that they got to release Canyons at the very least.

I’m speechless. I too was like WTF on the delay on a follow up single but they literally just released their album 2 months ago! But this didn’t even cross my mind that something like this was brewing.
So sad, because Slow Down is absolutely something that had potential to be something big for them imo.
Damn.

So if I’m understanding this correctly, they still released the album despite already breaking up earlier in the year...wow! I seriously liked their album and was looking forward to their future!

Not too surprised given Colbie and Justin broke up earlier this year but I also was hoping they'd stick together and get another few singles out. At least we got the album!
They're all really talented too so I'm hoping they all land somewhere else soon. Maybe Jason and Nelly can do a duo?

Am I the only one who is confused as to whether Gone West is completely finished? In all the releases I have read the language is that Justin and Colbie left, to me this tells me that there might still be a chance that Gone West will continue (even with Colbie saying that ending the band is the right decision) as a duo with Jason and Nelly, i.e. Sugarland and Gloriana.

Yeah, I am confused too. It's weird both of them would leave. It seems like one leaving would make sense...

Gone West Parts WaysMembers of the band Gone West are going separate ways. Colbie Caillat and Justin Young are splitting from bandmates Jason Reeves and Nelly Joy. On Wednesday, Caillat posted the news on Instagram. The country quartet was comprised of two couples. Reeves and Joy are married, while Caillat and Young called off their five-year engagement a few months ago. In June, Gone West released its first-full length album, Canyons, via Triple Tigers. That followed the success of debut single “What Could’ve Been,” which had by then earned more than 40 million streams, and more than 10 million views of the music video. musicrow.com/2020/08/gone-west-parts-ways1/

No reason Jason and Nelly can't continue. They used to be a duo called High Dive Heart, they opened for Colbie at a concert I went to and they were very good on their own.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jason & Nelly continue to record music together as a duo potentially, but I highly doubt they do it under the moniker Gone West given that the band was centered around the 4-part harmonies, and they didn't really establish themselves in a big way where the brand of their name supersedes that, like when Sugarland just continued on without 1 member.

I mean i guess they prob still could continue on as a duo but when the main vocalist leaves that changes everything. Are they going to re-record everything now? I doubt it. And even if they did, would anyone care?
I’m glad the album is out because i do really like it but without Colbie i doubt i’ll care anymore. Unless they blow me away with something new. But i really do believe they are just going to be done. At least as Gone West.

Between Gone West and JaneDear Girls, it's been unfortunate to see both groups have mild initial success and disband before a second album comes out. Definitely curious how Nelly is feeling right now.

Since Colbie and Justin broke up I thought this could happen...it´s a shame because they were a good group.
