The album isn't as great as I was hoping it would but it's okay. I'd give it a 5/10. Nothing breathtaking.

Cross Me has gone up to #3 on the album for me. It is actually sexy, while empowering women. That PNB&J sample works so much. I also still stand behind the fact that this is Ed's best album. It's missing a Lego House, One, Give Me Love, and Kiss Me, but he has done enough of those songs to satisfy me. This is fire through and through with no filler.

Projected to debut at #1 with 140-170k SPS (60-80k sales). For someone coming off such a bombastic era as "Divide" and having so much star power on the album, this is lackluster. It's not his typical solo studio album. I think these are good figures.

Honestly, Ed Sheeran is my favorite artist rn, and I wasn't excited that much for this project. I like his solo material more, but this album is still great. He said this project was for his soul and he wanted to collab with his favorite musicians. People clearly like CLASSIC ED more, and I'd be happy with 200k.

Listened to 10 of 15 of the songs and here's my opinion/comment on each of them:
1. Beautiful People - Out of the songs I've listened so far, this is my least favorite. I mean, I like Khalid, he's a great singer, but this kinda flopped to me. It's great, but it didn't meet my expectations when I first saw the Ed + Khalid collab. I now like this song. This indeed had room to grow on me! Ed and Khalid's voices were great and harmonizes pretty well. I can say that the instrumental made it great and the chill lyrics. 2. South Of The Border - Anytime you give me a Cardi B song/feature that in general has a Latin flavor in it, I get excited because Cardi always brings out the fire in her in those types of songs. And this one is no exception though and yes, I was so hyped when I first saw it and it delivered! 3. Cross Me - I found it decent at first, but there's time to grow on me and now it did. I like it! The Hip-hop like vibe was quite fitting and yeah the song is great, but I'll give some credit to it's music video, it's far better. 4. Best Part of Me - There's no Ed Sheeran album without a ballad and this is basically when "Thinking Out Loud" and "Perfect" had a child and this was it. 5. I Don't Care - Same thoughts as "Cross Me", but I really preferred the song more than the music video. The video had too much green screen and made it a little messy. 6. Antisocial - Best song off the album so far. Like "South Of The Border", Ed+Travis is a collab that I'm clearly excited for. And as both the song and the video goes, it clearly didn't disappoint too. 7. Remember The Name - 50 Cent's flow was a little bit slow, but I don't care this is great! The instrumental and Eminem's verse has its Slim Shady vibes in it. I find it ironic that there's a verse saying "in the club" (yeah I know it's a reference to 50 Cent's song), but this is quite perfect in the clubs and parties, despite most of Ed's songs are lyrically antisocial. 8. 1000 Nights - The least catchy off the three hip-hop based songs off the album, but I'll give it some credit because Meek Mill's lyric flow is quite impressive, but not on par with Mr. Marshall Bruce Mathers III, he's the GOAT. 9. Way To Break Your Heart - I had the expectations of it being an EDM song knowing who Skrillex is, but when I heard it, it's basically Ed's take on Justin's "Where Are U Now". 10. BLOW - Just look at "South Of The Border" and "Antisocial", albeit Ed (a pop singer), Chris Stapleton (a country singer), and Bruno Mars (mostly R&B) singing a rock song is quite unexpected, but why not? I love some unpredictability!

I listened to this last night and it was a mixed bag for me. There are a few that really impressed me, and then a few that should not exist lol. So here’s my ranking of all the songs from best to worst.
1. BLOW (5/5) - Biggest surprise of the album and I love it. Such a jam. 2. South of the Border (5/5) - I like how simplistic it is and Ed sounds great. Camila is better than usual and Cardi is tolerable for once. 3. Best Part of Me (4.5/5) - I love acoustic ballad Ed Sheeran and I’m happy we got to hear that in at least one of these songs. 4. Beautiful People (4/5) - Pretty nice song and I think Ed and Khalid sound great here. 5. I Don’t Care (4/5) - This song is impossible for me to hate. It’s just fun and catchy. Good lead single. 6. Remember The Name (3.5/5) - Well-produced and I like Ed here, but Eminem and 50 Cent stole the show for me. 7. I Don’t Want Your Money (3.5/5) - Slick guitar but I wish H.E.R. had more of a presence on the song. Ed’s verses are fine, but the chorus is what does it for me. 8. Put It All On Me (3.5/5) - I’m not huge on all the vocal effects, but I like the beat and Ella Mai sounds really good. 9. 1000 Nights (2/5) - Decent production and the chorus is fine, but I don’t like any of the verses. 10. Antisocial (2/5) - I personally don’t think this style fits Ed Sheeran. I do not like how he sounds in the chorus. I like Travis’ verse though. 11. Nothing On You (1.5/5) - I was not feeling the beat and I don’t like either of the rappers on the song. Ed sounded fine though. 12. Take Me Back To London (1.5/5) - Not a huge fan of Ed’s rapping and I don’t really like Stormzy here. 13. Cross Me (1/5) - This is just not my cup of tea personally. I don’t like this production or how Ed sounds. I don’t like Chance’s verse at all. I guess I can see the appeal, but it’s not for me. 14. Way To Break My Heart (1/5) - This is why I haven’t been a fan of Skrillex in years. Ed sounds fine, but the song is kind of boring and the drop sucks. 15. Feels (0/5) - This should not exist. Young Thug sounds terrible. J Hus sounds pretty bad. Even Ed doesn’t sound great and I don’t like the beat.
So overall this comes out to about a 2.8/5. It was okay and there were definitely highlights. But some of these were just not my thing.

So this might be my new favorite album from Ed. It's not perfect, groundbreaking, or anything like that but damn if it isn't a lot of fun. Ed's charm that I feel was diminished in Divide returned full force in this clumsy but ultimately fun album.

I listened to the album today and I really felt as a project.I liked the production and it turned out to be better than I thought although I didnt have high expectations.
The only songs that I didnt care too much were "I dont care" and "South Of The Border".I think most of the songs had the rap sytle and this is something that I´ve always liked on Ed so it didnt bother me among my favorites are: Cross Me,Take Me Back To London, Best Part of Me and Remember My Name.

as someone who generally doesn't like the usual ed songs, i really appreciate the more rnb/hip hop and trap leaning songs on this project. "antisocial" is the best song on this project imo. he kinda sounds a little like the weeknd on there.

Blow is amazing. I would love for all three artists to perform this at some awards show because they will undoubtedly bring the house down.

The majority of the project feels like a quantity over quality case and pales into comparison of his best work such as +, 5, and x. A lot of the features should have been cut off such as the ones on Feels and Nothin On You, and Chance on Cross Me
Some songs altogether just don't work or are just generic like I Don't Care and 1000 Nights Most of it in general is very generic like South Of The Border, Way To Break My Heart
My only real takeaways from the project are Best Part Of Me (Him and Yebba harmonize amazingly well), Beautiful People (simple, a lil generic but good enough), Antisocial(one of the collabs on here that work for me but is nowhere up there as a fav from Ed), and I Don't Want Your Money (Honestly this could've just been a H.E.R song).
Also part of me wants to like Blow but it isn't my cup of tea though it's a very fun experiment which I wish the rest of the album could've been.
As a whole the album is like 2.5/5 for me, easily my least favorite thing from Ed though I can appreciate the sentiment that he just wanted to have fun with this

During my first listen, I kept finding myself raising an eyebrow at the idea of Ed Sheeran - the same little redheaded guitar-strumming pop/folk star - knocking into Hip Hop. It certainly does not come across as natural, but it works. I'm digging it.

If this was years ago when I used to buy cd's this would have been a score. I like a decent amount of it. My favorites so far are "Cross Me, South Of The Boarder" which is a little safer or pop then I would have wanted but I really like it. "I Don't Care, Antisocial" which I was not expecting at all. "Remember The Name" is pretty good. It's got a nostalgic feel to it. Classic Eminem chorus. "Feels and I Don't Know" are favorites so far as well. "Feels" has a great reggae like beat breakdown in it I loved. There's only 2-3 tracks I wasn't really into and a couple I may have liked more if they were just or more Ed. As a whole good collection.

It certainly does not come across as natural, but it works. I'm digging it. He actually has dabbled in hip-hop early in his career. There's a legit rap song from him floating around the internet from like last decade. Dude probably loves that genre but discovered he has more success in adult contemporary.

Pitchfork has its head up its own ass as usual when it comes to Ed. In their review, they basically claimed he was just using rap for a come-up because it's hot. Clearly, they have not actually followed his career and yet, they talked about his last collab and how he had UK underground rap artists so...

He's always had a singing-rap style since his start, though I'm not a fan of it on the current project because well he's done far far far better.
