I never understood how a #1 debut on Spotify can have a strong 2m+ streams debut and then fall ~1m streams the next day. It’s been happening to many artists lately. Never understood Spotify users.

Many people listened to The London based off of hype and curiosity, and then it fell down because the hype wore off and some people disliked it and stopped listening to it

Am I the only one who’s OCD is acting up with the “19” in the title instead of “2019”? Oh fuck now I can't unsee it

I always notice errors on my charts long after posting them. "Let's Hear It For The Boy" should obviously have a peak of 1, not 2. If anyone notices anything, ever, don't hesitate to holler. Speaking of LHIFTB, it is one of six Hot 100 hits from the Footloose soundtrack, with "Let's Hear It For The Boy", "Dancing In The Sheets", "Almost Paradise", and "Footloose" all on that one chart. "Holding Out For Hero" by Bonnie Tyler (#34) had already finished its run, and "I'm Free (Heaven Helps The Man)" by Kenny Loggins (#22) hadn't charted yet. The 7th single, "Somebody's Eyes" by Karla Bonoff stalled at #109 on the Bubbling Under chart. One of the biggest soundtracks on the Hot 100 and otherwise, from a decade full of hugely successful ones. It looks like it's currently approaching diamond status here in the US. Love that movie and soundtrack. I forgot “Hurts So Good” and “Waiting for a Girl Like You” weren’t on the initial version of the soundtrack.

35th Anniversary Edition Noteworthy: • Whitney Houston's Hot 100 debut, and first of 39 songs to chart • Cyndi Lauper's first of 2 #1 hits, and second of 8 total top 10 hits • The eve of Madonna scoring her first of a record 38 top 10 hits • Contains two hits Mariah Carey has since covered (and released as singles in international markets) • Debut of Elton John's 36th of 67 total Hot 100 entries • Steve Perry's debut solo hit peaks, besting all of Journey's Hot 100 peaks, save for "Open Arms" (#2, 1982) • The Pointer Sisters' 5th of 7 top 10 hits • Laura Branigan's 3rd and final top 10 hit (following "Gloria" and "Solitaire") • Four of six chart entries from the original Footloose soundtrack, including two former #1s and a future top 10.
View AttachmentInterestingly, Meet Me Halfway by the Black Eyed Peas is influenced by both the #1 and #11 in this chart! Musically, it’s quite an obvious rip off of Time After Time (there’s video comparisons and mashups of the two on YouTube), and Fergie said in an interview that the lyrics of the song were inspired by Madonna’s Borderline. The song also takes a direct sample of the guitar from Maps by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but that song is from 2004 I think. Even though Meet Me Halway takes elements from 3 other songs, I think it’s a brilliant song in its own right. One of my HAC stations used to have it in high rotation at the time, which surprised me. It’s the closest thing to rap music that I’ve ever heard them play! But it was understandable with the 80s influences and after the success of I Gotta Feeling. Meet Me Halfway was successful in the US, but it was massively successful in Europe, managing to make #3 on Billboards’s year-end European Hot 100 for 2010.

You guys think Katy is a threat? Not to Lil Nas X & Billy Ray of course, but the rest of the Hot 100 considering how weak the rest of the chart is right now.

In terms of 2010’s radio, Rihanna, Bruno Mars and Maroon 5 are definitely going to be the top three (in chronological order thus far) ‘Airplay Artists of the Decade’.
1) Rihanna.
• 10 Airplay #1’s • 55 Weeks at #1.
2) Bruno Mars.
• 8 Airplay #1’s. • 50 Weeks at #1.
3) Maroon 5.
• 6 Airplay #1’s. • 49 Weeks at #1.
Rihanna also has the most Airplay top tens of the 2010’s, followed by Drake.
Rihanna will also have the “Female” Airplay song of the Decade just like the “Female” Hot 100 song of the Decade with ‘We Found Love’.
I’m not sure what the overall Airplay song of the Decade will be: Girls Like You? High Hopes? Uptown Funk?

I think Cardi B can somehow pose a threat to OTR.
