nickdAre there any songwriters that you haven’t done or are doing that has a chance of entering the top ten, or even top twenty, or is the top 10-30 completely set in stone? The top ones I haven't done are probably going to have around 25-30k points, so maybe if I'm underestimating one they can make the top 30 but top 20 should be set.

Jerry Leiber Points: 17013 Including these songs from the days of the Top 100 and Best Sellers charts, he'd have 25196 points. rockgolf paulhaney

Sam Cooke Points: 26565 If you were to include his three pre-Hot 100 hits, he'd have 30650 points

Shouldn't you be using the inverse points system that Billboard uses for their all time charts?

Shouldn't you be using the inverse points system that Billboard uses for their all time charts? Not one made by someone else It would take like 10x longer to do it that way since I'd have to calculate the points for each song myself. That database I use still uses a fairly reasonable formula and it's pretty consistent so I don't think it matters if it's a bit different. We also don't know what the exact point system is that Billboard uses, although based on attempts to figure out what their formulas are, they overweight the top positions (especially the #2-#10) and underweight the lower reaches of the chart compared to how much those songs are actually consumed. Mainly because they give more than twice as many points for #10 as for #11 which is very arbitrary. The formula my source uses to calculate Hot 100 points more accurately reflects consumption. The inverse point system of the earlier parts of Billboard's history also poorly reflects consumption since there's only a very small difference in points for #1 to #10.

Ariana Grande - I also included some of her more noteworthy songs that she didn't have writing credits on. Points: 4548

Cathy Dennis Points: 5193 Not a tonne of points but the songs she did write include some of Pulse's favorites. She also wrote many other songs that were big in the UK but not in the US such as About You Now by Sugababes and much of S Club 7's biggest hits.

• Barry White/Love Unlimited Orchestra • Tracy Chapman • Per Gessle (Roxette) • Bob Marley • Sean Paul • Darius Rucker/Hootie & The Blowfish • Sly Stone • Maurice Bailey (EW&F) • Phillip Bailey (EW&F) Just some more of my favourites! 😉 *** nickdI edited my list, and yes, you’re right. The majority of Rondstadt’s hits were covers. Thanks for reminding me.

Noel Gallagher Points: 1951 I knew Oasis wasn't as big in the US as in the UK, but I didn't realize by how much (at least in terms of chart success). Noel Gallagher would probably have 20k+ points if this was based on UK charts.

Demi Lovato Points: 2309 Seems like her involvement in songwriting kind decreased as her career progressed - the opposite of some other pop singers like Ariana and Selena.

Technically, Loudermilk's biggest hit was just credited to The Raiders, without Paul Revere. Also, I think the first Thou Shall Not Steal act is Dick and Dee Dee.
Thanks for fixing!

Hard as it is to believe, The Who only had 1 top 10 track on the Hot 100. I Can See For Miles, which peaked at #9.
