I wouldn't think that Steinman's point total would be very high. A few really big hits, but not a lot of hits overall. But the points would all be his own. And we're not talking minor hits. Total Eclipse of the Heart (2 versions) I'd Do Anything for Love (and almost every other Meat Loaf hit) It's All Coming Back To Me Now Making Love Out of Nothing At All Holding Out for a Hero Read 'Em & Weep Left In the Dark

But you're right, he won't have to split the percentages. Will still be interesting to see his total.

I'm a big Steinman fan. Even bought his solo "Bad For Good" album. Last year I saw live production of Bat Out of Hell, which was basically a jukebox musical of all his hits (British cast, but played in Toronto). Great music, incomprehensible story.

"Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through" is one of my favorite songs from 1981! Shoulda been a bigger hit at the time. Glad that Meat Loaf's version eventually got it more exposure.

Nice total for Bacharach, especially since he had to split points!
I'll put in a request for Neil Sedaka.

Jim Steinman - he does indeed have a pretty good total thanks to almost all his songs being solo-written and a few of them being pretty big hits. Points: 21846 paulhaney rockgolf

Beyonce Points: 17587 points rockgolf , going on vacation so I won't be posting too many over the next couple weeks. I have a few that are 80% finished and might still have time to finish off and post though. edit: should be 1/7 (14%) on Shining rather than 1/8.

Ester Dean Points: 8561 Very underrated songwriter. Penned a lot of hits in the early 2010's.

Hadn't expected Neil Diamond to (at least for now) top the list, but those covers that reached #1 by The Monkees & UB40 did it.
I wonder who will end up being the top songwriter not covered by the Glee Cast.

Mick Jagger - I decided to do his stats instead of Keith Richards' since he seems to have written a bit more hits outside of The Rolling Stones - Keith should have mostly the same songs but with a couple thousand points fewer points from not having Mick's solo success. Wow! Not enough from Mick to make the top ten to date on page 1. I hope you expand that to a running top 20 or 30.

How on earth does Mariah have 14% credit for I Still Believe? Maybe for the Pure Imagination remix? Unless she wrote for Brenda K while she was doing backup...

How on earth does Mariah have 14% credit for I Still Believe? Maybe for the Pure Imagination remix? Unless she wrote for Brenda K while she was doing backup... OK I changed it to 0%. For some reason one of the websites I was using to get my data had these guys listed as the songwriter credits www.racpro.com/grid.php?pid=4&sid=5510&type=ht Written by: Antonina Armato/Leslie Bricusse/Beppe Cantarelli/Mariah Carey/Al Henderson/Anthony Newley/Damion Young For the first few songwriters I did I didn't cross-reference the songwriting credits between all my sources (musicvf.com, racpro.com, wikipedia, genius lyrics) but I usually do so now.
