Kanye West Points: 17124 Bolded songs were still charting as of the December 14, 2019 Hot 100 chart. edit: added in his songs from Pusha T's "Daytona" and "Famous" which I previously missed.

I'm sure it'll just be her solo + peas songs, but what about Fergie? Thanks!

Isn't Rock And Roll Music a Chuck Berry composition? Which raises the question of Berry's point total, in particular what percentage of Surfin' USA he should be credited for?

I wonder how much different the points totals for topline songwriters like Bonnie McKee, Kara DioGuardi and Ester Dean would be if they were writing 20+ years ago. Back then the performers were less likely to demand songwriting credits, and ditto for the producers. Admittedly the producers do have a bigger role these days since the songs often begin with their instrumental rather than beginning with a songwriter(s) that write a song to piano/guitar and then get a band or producer to add the other elements. Maybe the producers today are more involved in giving input in every step of the process whereas in the past their role was closer to that of an engineer?

Yeah, you're right, I meant to give the 100% credit on Rock And Roll Music to Chuck Berry who I'm working on for tomorrow's post but looks like I gave them 100% each. As for Surfin' USA, I'll go for 50/50 for Chuck Berry and Brian Wilson since that's how the credits are official split despite Mike Love claiming to have contributed lyrics.

Probably not too many acts that have been covered by both Jimi Hendrix and Cher.

Trying to think of all the big contemporary behind the scenes song-writers I haven't posted yet.
Max Martin (did his points, saving the post for later though) Steve Mac Wayne Hector Red One Scott Storch Boi-1da 40 Cirkut
Any other big ones I'm missing?

Probably a bit early for Finneas O'Connol. And you've done Louis Bell?

rockgolf - yeah I'd wait at least until the end of the year before doing Finneas. Louis Bell was one of the first songwriters I did - he'll probably be due for an update at the end of the year too with Post Malone releasing his album next month.

By contemporary I didn't neccessarily mean songwriters that had big hits this year though rockgolf, just anyone whose songwriting career peaked in the last couple decades when hits had longer chart runs. That means that songwriters from this period can impact the charts more than you'd expect based on their number of #1 or top 10 hits since they just have a 20-40 week hit instead of two 10-20 week hits.

Yup. One of my favorites too. (Although I think his ratio of new material to compilations is the lowest I ever saw. He seemed to alternate, even in the 60s & 70s between 1 new album and a best of/live/collection re-package.)
A case of missing the obvious child.
Minor question: On other acts that did covers, you listed those tracks but scored zero. Yet the Simon & Garfunkel "Wake Up, Little Suzie" isn't listed, nor the Garfunkel, Simon & Taylor "(What A) Wonderful World". Any reason?
