Have you ranked “Holland-Dozier-Holland”?
They wrote 11 of The Supremes’ 12 number one hits, and several other number one hits by Motown acts.
Also, have you ranked “Marvin Gaye; Ashford & Simpson (Nikolai Ashford); Roberta Flack; Chuck Berry; Ray Charles” etc.
It’d be awesome if you did.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Roberta Flack didn't really write any of her hits? musicvf.com/songs.php?page=artist&artist=Roberta+Flack&tab=songaswriterchartstabShe did produce a few though. Chuck Berry and Eddie Holland (the most prolific of the three) have already been done. My first post has a list of everyone I've done and a link to the post with the songwriter's songs. I'll put the others on my to-do-list.

She did co-produce a few of her hits ala. “The First Time...” & “Killing Me Softly”, adding new arrangements but then I remembered that both songs aren't hers originally and are ‘covers’ so full-credit doesn’t belong to her. I can’t wait for the others. Thanks. 😊

Wayne Hector - most of his hits were just hits in the UK rather than on the Hot 100 so he ended up having a lot fewer points than I expected. He'd have gotten about 3x more points if this was ranking songwriters by performance on the UK charts. Points: 5289

nickdHave you done Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder? I’d love to see their total points. Also, Quincy Jones. (Sorry if you’ve done them and I haven’t noticed)

Yup. kierz7Anyways, here's Quincy Jones, he was mostly a producer rather than a songwriter so his total is not that high. Quincy Jones Points: 3004

How is George Michael so high? Does he have writing credits other than his solo and Wham hits?

Bernie Taupin - he wrote a few songs without Elton John, but Elton John also wrote a few songs without him, writing with Tim Rice and Gary Osborne instead, so Bernie's total is a bit lower than Elton's. Points: 30919 rockgolf paulhaney

Thanks! Taupin's a little lower than I expected. I didn't realize We Built This City had that many co-writers.

nickdAre there any songwriters that you haven’t done or are doing that has a chance of entering the top ten, or even top twenty, or is the top 10-30 completely set in stone?
