This only took one listen to get stuck in my head.

I love this! Great production, memorable lyrics, catchy, and meaningful. I can’t believe Taylor is explicitly supporting gay rights and calling out Pulse diva stans!

Immediately like this way more than ME!. Feeling a bit more enthused about the album now.

Oh it’s a cute enough bop, nothing amazing but way better than “Me-hee-hee” at least! Come thru with the album queen!

I am absolutely loving this! It feels like a Lorde meets JoJo Siwa parTy and play and Morning Music/Sleaze song. It is so lit.

Outside of the lyrics this is a complete chop for me. It's better then Me! But yeah this still ain't it.

Not sure how I feel about this tbh. I like the production but it seems like some kind of climax is missing...

Don’t hate it completely... The production is pretty good, I like that. However, the lyrics are super embarrassing. Just because she mentioned gay people (so brave) it doesn’t sound any less childish. The beat is more imaginative than “Me!”, but I still prefer that.

Better than ME!, but still not great. Is this the best she can do? “Snakes and stones never broke my bones”? Boring.

I wonder how this will fair the first day, I hope it's doing well on Spotify/Apple Music. She has the banner for the pre-order on Apple Music along with the Best Of The Week on iTunes. She is currently #2 behind...Old Town Road,

Love how it goes from "my" to "his" to "our" gown(s).

I like it but it's very short and ends very abruptly. Radio will love a sub 3 minute track though

Hmm... I actually prefer Me!. This is okay. The instrumental is strong, I like the “uh oh uh oh uh oh” and I think as it goes on it gets better, however it starts out really weak. It’s basically This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things (which I preferred) without the shouting mixed with the weak/awkward forced rhymes of Gorgeous. I also really don’t like how she sings “down” and “loud”. Honestly, I can’t see this doing better than Me! and I feel people are really over this “screw the haters” thing - and I’m kind of feeling that way too. It’s Taylor so I’ll support the song regardless but I feel when the album comes out this will be the song I skip

I like it on first listen. Yeah, the lyrics are pretty bold for her! Good!

5 hours in, selling 98% of "Old Town Road" on iTunes and #68 on Apple Music.

This would have been much bolder if it had been released first with the hype. It's good, and one of her best from a production standpoint, but it I can't help but feel like it never goes anywhere.

Oh, there couldn’t have been a more perfect time to release this. This is definitely a step up from "ME!", and I loved that one. Should have been the lead single tbh.

It's now #1 on iTunes. The Video is released on Monday, maybe that help it gain momentum. I can see Taylor rebounding from "Me!" with this. Will it have enough to get into the top 10 for a debut although? I hope so.

Fucking catchy! The lyrics are very clever and they stick in your head. The "don't step on my gown" line will be the most iconic thing she's ever wrote! Yas Aretha!

I'm in the minority here, because I find both "You Need To Calm Down" and "ME!" equally good in some parts and some parts in both I find some flaws (ME! with the "spelling is fun" bit while this which I find the verses sounded like auto-tuned)
Aside from those, I find both of them great in terms of visuals, lyrics (I'll give the slight edge on the better lyrics for You Need To Calm Down because ME! has that "spelling is fun"), and also I like the flow of Taylor in the pre-chorus, it almost like it didn't missed in the beat.
As much as I like the lyrics detracting her haters (like Shake It Off 2.0) and supporting LGBTQ+, I felt like the verses is this Taylor is taking shots at "reputation" Taylor.
