I know it's been said, but Céline definitely did I Love You much better. And I'm a bit sad that Better Days did so poorly... but I knew it would rank low.

I changed my hair, my clothes, Almost everything about myself. I can't believe I tried to be somebody I'm not For someone else, yeah. It took finding you to finally understand What it's like to be loved for who I am.

"Me" kicks off the top 10, but fans of the song can rest easy knowing that it is at least the first song to make the album tracks rankdown! "Me" was unstable for awhile, before it really settled into that #10 spot and didn't let go. However, it ALMOST moved up to #9 with the final list! SHOOTER ended up tying this song with the #9, however #9 stayed ahead because it will actually be the first #1 loss of the rankdown I have always found "Me" to be a decent song. I don't consider it anywhere close to being the best song on the album or anything, but it does have a great message and the melody is pretty strong. Sonically and stylistically this one has always reminded me of Martina's "Being Myself".

Bowing out at #9, we say goodbye to the international bonus track, which turned in an absolutely spectacular performance in this rankdown!!!! Bonus tracks almost 100% of the time get tanked to hell on album rankdowns. And while there were several people who tried to give this song the same fate, there were also enough people who loved the song trying to give it a huge boost. It received 4 top 5 votes, two of which were top 3s, and one of which is our very first #1 loss of the rankdown (sorry @xfer!). It wasn't enough to let this song finish as high as it deserved, imo, but it was at least enough to get this into the album tracks rankdown!
"Love Will Always Win" has a spectacular melody. I have always enjoyed it as a Garth Brooks/Trisha Yearwood duet, but imo Faith turns in an impeccable vocal that makes this a standout song. The bombastic production plays into her strengths as an artist in this case. And that F5 that she belts in that huge reprise of the chorus at the end of the song is everything! I can't believe this was not included as part of the regular album, because despite its somewhat polarizing performance here, it is clear that it is well-liked enough to where people would have probably enjoyed being able to purchase it easily...

Up next at #8, a song that does not have any #1s, but it does have a whopping SEVEN top 5 placements!!!!! It was a #1 contender early on, before a handful of people with incredibly questionable taste started revealing themselves...

I love “Love Will Always Win” so much. I figured it would be low on the rank down since most people here are not familiar with it as it wasn’t on the US version of the album, but it was always one of my favorites ever since I became a Faith fan as a kid Fun fact, Faith (the album) is actually called Love Will Always Win here in Brazil LOL (not sure why lol)

How do I feel? Well, I feel so alone. Like a sad armadillo across this desert I roam. I've been stripped down bare 'til I break, Still the wheel keeps turning.
Had me a sweet one, I tell no lie. Summer nights in the cornfields When the corn gets so high. We traveled clear 'cross Wichita, headin' north Leavin' civilization.

Whew, this song really exposes the people who have been hanging out with LBTrocks too much... "My Wild Frontier" is an absolutely haunting song! From the very beginning the harmonica sets the perfect lonely atmosphere for the song, and then the story Faith tells is so masterfully crafted... Plus her vocals are heartbreakingly emotional here. I guess I could understand folks finding this song boring, but it definitely deserved to have a shot at the top 5, imo! It is one of her most beautiful album tracks, even if it might not have made a great hit.

I'm not listening to that but if it's 'absolutely haunting' I probably would have ranked it fairly well.

“My Wild Frontier” was my favorite discovery from the album and one that Faith handles with great care and delivers on vocally. I can’t fathom how anyone found room at the bottom of their list for this hauntingly gorgeous song.
I wasn’t expecting to like “Love Will Always Win” as much as I did mostly because it was relegated to bonus track status, but wow this one was great! I found it be very “There You’ll Be”-esque and while the production of the song may not have quite fit in with the rest of the album I would’ve certainly taken this over “Love Ain’t Like That” (speaking of which can we please get this one out next?!?). I wrestled with wanting to rank this one higher than I did which just goes to show you the strength of the album overall.

Ok but Bussy didn't actually want me to listen to it, he just wanted to use my iconicness to support his stance that the song got wrongly tanked.

In my defense, I thought I ranked MWF higher. Beautifully crafted story and her vocals were just right. Boring is not a word I’d associate with MWF but well...

I feel like we've been trolled. "My Wild Frontier" out this early? Not in the top 5? Before "Love Ain't Like That"? You've gotta be kidding me. This song is immaculate.

Also, I'm so glad you highlighted these lyrics because they are definitely the best set in the song!! The line about the sad armadilla [sic] and the reference to Wichita (duh) send this over the edge for me. I legit don't know how anyone could rank this low, even on an album this strong because she absolutely murders this vocally and the lyrics and production are both just BEAUTIFUL.

"My Wild Frontier" was the only song I didn't care for, maybe I can give it a few more listens to see if it grows on me but it hasn't so far.
"Better Days" was my favorite discovery, sad it is out already

Random aside, but I still didn't have this album and tonight while I was at the mall I found a used copy of it + Fireflies and spent $5 collectively to get both. Now the only one I don't have in my music library is her debut record.

With "Love Ain't Like That", we say goodbye to the first single from this rankdown. It was also the first of this album's singles to leave in the Faith Hill singles rankdown last year, when it bowed out in the 75th percentile of her singles (30 out of 40). This song is catchy, but it feels more like an album track than a single to me. I would have preferred to see "The Hard Way" or "You Give Me Love" released to radio, personally (and it seems ya'll agree since those two are still in!) Just like with "My Wild Frontier", I LOVE the lonely vibe that the harmonica gives the song. It always makes me think of a lonesome desert or something. With "My Wild Frontier" that was of course appropriate for the theme of the song, but in this case it seems to communicate the loneliness that comes from not having love. sbp17 becomes the next victim of #1 loss here, while six additional people lose a top 3!

I hear every word they say. They tell me to stay away. They say I'm better off without you, baby. You've caused me nothing but pain. Heartache's your middle name. But seems I never see it coming. I'll just admit it, baby, You really drive me crazy. Let go of my heart. 'Cause every time you're near me I can't think clearly. Defenses fall apart.
