Probably the only Soul Asylum song I even remotely care for, it's nice to see it end up here.

- What songs do you think could be in the bottom ten? Have a #100 prediction? Numb, The Gift, One/both of the Frank Black songs. You know these questions are about trying to predict the overall results, right? Do you just assume everyone hears music exactly like you do? lol Judging by another of your survey answers, you thought The Gift would be out in the bottom 10 and your last bottom 10 to leave, so

s**t night of reveals for me. and my tank of travesties is still half full. 40. Stereo MC's - ConnectedI don't connect with innovative hybrid sounds that sound like crap . 39. World Party - Is It Like Today?Pleasant sounds I can connect with. This is more like it. 38. Peter Gabriel - SteamThis was alright for Peter Gabriel. I'd rather a song that reminds me of his older hits, than something that doesn't even sound like him. 37. String - Fields of GoldThis songs brings on a Beautiful atmosphere whenever it plays. 36. The Tragically Hip - Courage (for Hugh MacLennan) This song wasn't too terrible, but I had to sacrifice it to better songs. 35. Urge Overkill - Sister HavanaWhat a "jip" How the hell does this "Firestarter" miss the top 30. How the hell did it miss the top 5? I am not happy with this reveal 34. Inspiral Carpets - Two Worlds CollideThis was a good song. Pianos and bass clicked very well. Could use a little more fire, but I liked it a lot. 33. New Order - World (The Price of Love)This band, Moenia, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, can call me anytime to buy my vote. 32. Pet Shop Boys - Can You Forgive Her?This band loves to inject the classic Hi-NRG melodies in there songs. I think that's why they slay time after time. 31. Frank Black - Hang On To Your EgoThis one was way more enjoyable than that other "Los Angelis" travesty. All it needed some "whoa ohoh's" right after he sings hang on to your ego. That would have made it even better. 30. Porno For Pyros - PetsVery pleasant song. I enjoyed it way more this time than I did back then. I don't even think I charted it back then? Oh well, I made up for that with my #22 rank. 29. Duran Duran - Ordinary WorldCheese my ass. You all can stick that cheese where the sun don't shine.... ![8D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/insane.png) You give this 90's yet the song that made my ears bleed is still kicking. BTW, This is the best comeback song ever, by one of the best bands ever created in the name of music. Don't F U C K with us Duran Duranies. 28. Belly - Feed the TreeThis wasn't anything special. I didn't hate it, but it wasn't anything I'd click on in next couple of years. 27. The Posies - Dream All DayI never heard this before. I just loved the way this one rocked. I upgrade songs that pull out my old air guitar 27. Soul Asylum - Runaway TrainI love Soul Asylum. No exceptions. I can't wait to rank "Somebody To Shove" really high. This is B.S. I'm gonna say this before it goes any further. Am the only one here who experienced sever ear bleeding with my #100 song? Why the hell is that song (and I use the term loosley) still in the rankdown?

I got a lot of work ahead of me. Extras from yesterday.:Sloan - UnderwhelmedThis is good music. Never heard it, but it would fit nicely in my top 30. Fabulon - In a MoodThis was kinda fun. It struck me as something Peter Wolf would have released in the 90's. Fun doesn't do so well on PULSE Rds tho. R.E.M. - The Sidewinder Sleeps ToniteBits and pieces of other R.E.M songs, but it didn't click with me fully. dada - DimMuch catchier than the other song. Damn good too. I swear this the band Gin Blossoms would listen to when writing music. Same guitar twangs and licks. R.E.M. - Everybody HurtsCring -o-rama. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) Be glad you didn't get to see me tank this one. Now That's what I consider gooey cheese. moving on..... 10,000 Maniacs - Everyday is Like SundayVery nice music. Love the strings in the bridge. Maybe better than "Candy Everybody Wants"? Radiohead - Stop WhisperingNever heard this. Sounded like Love Spit Love. This band wasn't afraid to inject melody into their songs back then. What happened to them in the present time? Ween - Push th' Little DaisiesI'll give you one guess where I would stick this vocal atrocity? ??? Billy Idol - Shock to the SystemThe energy of this song is gargantuan. It would be no shock to anyone here that I would have been the highest ranker for this song hands down. Top 10 hit on my past charts. Best Kissers in the World - Miss Teen U.S.A.Great for head bopping. What else you want? King Missile - Detachable PenisI remember this one quite well, but I can't recall what radio station would actually play it. KROQ? It has novelty song nostalgia. Listen to the exact lyrics. They are a gas. Annie Lennox - Love Song for a VampirePowerful female vocals go the distance here. It's like a goth version of Erasure's "Always". I didn't know it was in the movie, but it fits perfect. 'd go as far as ranking top 40 here. Depeche Mode - Condemnation LOL! Peak Depeche Mode was in the 80's. "Master and Servant", "People Are People", "Blasphemous Rumors", "Personal Jesus". The 90's were there big Pop crossovers, but you can't touch the quality of the 80's. BTW, "Condemnation" is just dreadful. Shawn Colvin - Round of BluesKinda sounds out of place in an Alternative Rock list, but its still very pleasant. Pure - BlastPart of me wanted to like this, but no. Just no. Part two later tonight.

Jane's Addiction alumni or not, #NoFreePasses I don't even like any single Jane's Addiction song as much as I do Pets so..."free pass" doesn't really apply in my situation. In fact it's more like Jane's Addiction shouldn't get a free pass because their existence eventually spawned Pets (and Tahitian Moon) ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

I can't say the same for Pets, which honestly sounds like a b-side to me. I'm more disappointed in Cursed Female getting shafted which makes me wonder where we all stand on Jane's Addiction songs.

Part two. Finally caught up with Extras Also raise your fist if "Wicked Garden" would have been your #1 song.
extras part too. 808 State - MosesI didn't care for it too much. Definitely in my bottom 50. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Someday I SupposeMuch more appealing to me. Vocally rough around the edges. Brass section is tight. Soul Asylum - Summer of DrugsA bit on the slower side. His vocals are not the best here. The song has a nice melody tho. I still considered this one a "filler" on the CD. Nirvana - SliverNever heard this before... and I don't ever need to again. Belly - Slow DogThis is out of tune on purpose right? No thanks. The Beloved - Sweet Harmony It's melodic enough and the Nice eye catching video makes it sound ever more pleasant. Kirsty MacColl - Can't Stop Killing YouNah, not enticing enough. Midnight Oil - Drums of HeavenThis band hit a rough spot in there career. Feels like they added the guitars just to appeal to electric guitar fans. Fail. Stereo MC's - Step It UpI was just waiting for some one to shout "gonna make You Sweat". I was not a fan of this sound at all. More bottom tank contenders. Robyn Hitchcock - Driving Aloud (Radio Storm)I didn't think this was too bad. I like the beatle-esque vocal tones. Needed more music in general, but not bad in lyrics department. Big Country - The One I LoveSomewhere between 1983-1989 they lost the sound that made them sound like 80's Big Country. Blind Melon - Tones of HomeDidn't like this then nor now. You won't hear tones like these out of my home. Stone Temple Pilots - Wicked GardenEasily my #1 song here without even breaking a sweat. "Sex Type Thing" is a Rock bop, but "Wicked Garden" is a better composition. Both about sex in one way or another, but its Scott's vocals that pull me in STP direction time after time. Plus its fierce. It might have some competition on the next Active RD, but since the best songs there are the Power ballads maybe not? We'll see. Pearl Jam - BlackDidn't really find the big deal about this song. Nor Pearl Jam lullabies in general. "Sirens" leaves this in the dust. "Jeremy" is pretty good too. "biggest extra" LOL! The best I might do with this would be 60-70's for melody alone, but not for EV's vocal. If you want to hear a great Pearl jam song go to Red 's journey and listen to "State of Love and Trust", and no he didn't payola me to plug his rank down either. :kii: Concrete Blonde - Heal It UpNever heard it, but it already sounds better than that Pearl Jam extra. Now, for some words from our sponsor. *c an we please get rid of my #100 song tonight. The only thing that would make that song worse would be Beastie Boys vocals.
