if you’re confused as to why 41 and 42 got swapped, there was an error with Geo’s list that caused the two to switch places. sorry about that

60. Dramarama - Work For FoodI thought I would like this a lot more than I actually did because I loved "Anything Anything". Proof of a one hit wonder. 59. Sunscreem - Love U MoreThis sounded like that house music I hated or some Bjork song. Not even the female vocals saved it. 58. The Ocean Blue - SublimeOne of the two first time listens I put in my top 10. Oh yeah there is one more. This had some Morrissey vibes meets Haircut 100. Wonderful melody throughout the song. 57. 10,000 Maniacs - Candy Everybody WantsI ended up liking this a lot mote than I ever remember liking back then. 56. Thomas Dolby - Eastern Bloc (Europa and the Pirate Twins Part 11)You all can go choke on a bloc of cement. This is Thomas Dolby. My favorite first time listen here. First off ,you all need to go back to 1982. Bow Wow Wow "I Want Candy" Hello? Then there is the ode to "Europa and the Pirate Twins" and the fact that Eddie Van Halen did the guitar parts here. AHHHH..I give up. You are all a lost cause. 55. U2 - LemonI actually thought Bono nailed the falsetto throughout the song. Not too bad actually. Sounded better to me now than it did back then. 54. Porno For Pyros - Cursed FemaleI didn't recall this one. It kinda sucked. The other one was eons better, but more important. Who is the chick in the photo? and why is she a cursed female? For her hotness? 53. Daniel Ash - Get Out of ControlThis was actually pretty fierce. I heard that cowbell and up list went this song. 52. The Waterboys - The Return of PanAnother first time listen, but a pretty dull one. F U C K Peter Pan. 51. Midnight Oil - Truganini This had some mean harmonica, but not much more to offer. 50. School of Fish - T ake Me AnywhereSome parts of this song were enjoyable. The electric guitar parts. 49. Lenny Kravitz - Are You Gonna Go My WayAre you people high or what? How the F U C K does this jam miss top 30? How the hell does it miss top 5. 8D 48. Living Colour - Leave It AloneI never really cared for this band. Right here they sound like they wanna rip off Lenny Kravitz? minus 15 points for that. 47. The The - Love Is Stronger Than DeathI didn't find much use for this song. 'nuff said. 46. The Trash Can Sinatras - HayfeverThis was alright. I like the upbeat vibe, but it needed a bit more excitement in the chorus to win my heart. 45. Pearl Jam - Crazy MaryI knew I would hate this as soon as I heard the first two words come out of his mouth. :kii: 44. U2 - ZooropaIdk what this was supposed to accomplish but U2 left the song's melody at the door. 43. Frank Black - Los AngelesAnother un melodic catastrophe. "Hang On To YOur Ego" is eons better this. 42. R.E.M. - IgnorelandThis R.E.M. song was just kinda there. Not good, not bad, and pretty easy to ignore 41. Suzanne Vega - 99.9 FTho only thing I really enjoyed about this song is that guitar strum that sounded like it was lifted off an INXS song. I just and waited for that sound to come around. I also didn't care for that 'doodoodoodoodooo" song she released before this one.

I'm gonna cover two nights of extras now: This one is really large. US3 - Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia)This sounded like another song I hated back then. Actually I think this was it. Horrible voices all the way through. easy bottom 5 for me. Crush - The RainThis one gets better as it goes along. The vocals really come alive and make the bassline sound even better. Nine Inch Nails - WishMuch more acceptable NIN material for me to groove to. Alice in Chains - Angry ChairThis didn't make the cut either? Killer AIC jam. That guitar lick. WOW! This, Wicked Garden, Sex Type Thing all miss the YE list. What the hell was up Billboard's ass in 1993? 8D Ultra Vivid Scene - Blood and ThunderThat was some guitar intro. Automatic top 50 on my list just for that alone. You know its true too. X - New Life"new Life" my ass. That stunk. As Fred Gwynne would say "Sometimes dead is better" :kii: Butthole Surfers - Who Was In My Room Last NightThat was some MV. I wouldn't have tanked this, but "john" Butthole can't sing for shit. 311 - Do You RightEh, not awful. "nuff said. Deacon Blue - Your TownGot some New Order Vibes. That's never a been a bad thing. Soul Asylum - Without a TraceI love Soul Asylum. This is a good song. Top 40 without even breaking a sweat. Black 47 - Funky CeiliIt wasn't that great, but I would still tank about 15 songs from the YE Alt list before this one. Plan B - Life's a BeatSounds like they recorded this on an old tape player. How mush worse did Plan A sound? Iggy Pop - Wild AmericaThis was just awful. No melody what so ever. Riverside - WaterfallThis was pretty transparent. Wouldn't go back to it unless money was offered Tripping Daisy - My Umbrellathis was pretty cool. Sounded like some other song I thought sounded pretty cool. Rihanna - Umbrella (Orange Version) ft. JAY-ZU actually tricked me into clicking on this. This is what happens when you click on every MV on the Rock forums Anyway, I didn't think this travesty could sound any worse, and yet it does. #1 stripper anthem and yet ironically I won't tip the stripper if she dances to this, yet alone take her upstairs.

Hmm...we're in a drought edition:
60. Word for Food---I think it was your YouTube link or something else, but I swore it was Word for Food and not Work for Food (Spotify set me straight).
59. Love U More---This started to get grating halfway through.
58. Sublime---Good first listen, very pleasant. Might work as a song if you go sailing...
57. Candy Everyone Wants---One of the few songs I remember from this year. It was pleasant enough.
56. Eastern Bloc---As is the case with sequels, it makes me wonder whether I should have heard Part 1. Van Halen's guitar riffs are a highlight, but I was kind of nonplussed by Dolby's vocals.
55. Lemon---An improvement over Numb (what wouldn't be) but the falsetto only worked so well in this OK song. I'd rather listen to the Rihanna/Pharrell Lemon.
54. Cursed Female---The lesser of the Porno for Pyros songs, but still pretty solid.
53. Get Out of Control---This is one of those songs that might have worked better if the song was more chaotic, more out of control. It was decent, but unmemorable. Thus my low ranking.
52. Return of Pan---This felt a bit too odd for its own good.
51. Truganini---This didn't feel like a Midnight Oil song. This felt more like a generic rock song.
50. Take Me Anywhere---Pleasant, but unmemorable.
49. Are You Gonna Go My Way---I give up. That guitar and rock vocals were fierce.
48. Leave It Alone---Much like how you'd expect Cult of Personality 2 to go. Some decent parts, but really this group could have grown.
47. Love is Stronger Than Death---Also kind of strong is this song.
46. Hayfever---Pleasant, but somewhat dull and unmemorable.
45. Crazy Mary---When a group is on, even lesser songs like this just CLICK.
44. Zooropa---This feels like a much more complete Lemon. The falsetto was fine and didn't mind the electronic elements that grated throughout Numb.
43. Los Angeles---Yeah, I just should have guessed this song. I could not get over how he kept mis-pronouncing Los Angeles and I was secretly hoping people in town would have risen up quickly to take care of him based on the number of times he did so here. Ego did a bit better, but not significantly better.
So 42 and 41 got misplaced? Well, some of the comments sound a bit confusing as well...
42. Ignoreland---REM was in nice form here. Fierce guitars, solid vocals from Stipe. Will warn those ahead of time that I won't be kind to Everybody Hurts.
41. 99.9 Degrees---Less a scorcher and more of a warm, pleasant day. I will not have you go after Tom's Diner, even with it being sampled in Centuries. That song was catchy as hell.
Let's lose the unfinished demo and the bee girl song tonight.

I hear "Round of Blues" at almost every single store I go to, like at least once per month at this point. It's either that or "Kite Like Girl" by Andy Grammar for some reason.

The bass in this song is just outrageous. Almost made my top 30 just because of the bass.

unfortunately the high SD party stops short--for now... #39 sees one bottom 5 rank, and for the most part, if you had a really bad reveal last time, this won't be as bad

One of my lowest really solid songs, but still very solid indeed. Easily would have been top 40 at least in the 2000s and 2010s rankdowns.
