Just a note regarding the demo clips listed in the very first post as "Not sure what this one is titled (part 1, 2 and 3)". These are all taken from a 2019 song that is mostly piano based that Kelsea recorded in the studio called "Glad I Didn't Know". The "it takes some rain to grow" song? I’m glad we finally know the title of the song, one of the best snippets she posted.

Yes, that's the one. It's a really good song.
And wow that was interesting about the Hole in the Bottle single cover originally being the album cover. I prefer the Hole in the Bottle cover. I just feel like it's really eye-catching with the color scheme of the blue jean jacket and blonde hair.

Yeah me too. Considering doing a little photoshop and changing it myself on the itunes files because I like it a lot more and actually think it looks less staged. I have ordered the vinyl as well because I heard the sales haven't been great. I know in the grand scheme of things it's not really important but the fact this whole pandemic kind of ruined the plan for the album rollout is another thing to add to the pile of terrible side effects of this situation.
But on the bright side we have this:

The Quarantine Song is cute, but I think her performance of Needy with Morgan was the highlight of the stream.

Hardly any discussion about Kelsea's new album. I was expecting a lot more. Any thoughts anyone?

Hardly any discussion about Kelsea's new album. I was expecting a lot more. Any thoughts anyone? To be honest, I don't even know how to start this... I was not going to say anything about the album in here, because I don't want people to think, that I'm a negative person. English is not my first language, so I don't want people to missunderstand me. As most of you guys in here know, I would consider myself as one of Kelsea's biggest fans, but my really high hopes for the album were already a little destroyed with the pre-released songs. I'm mostly disappointed that the album isn't as sad as Kelsea said it would be and that none of the ballads, which she posted snippets from made the album over a couple of songs that made the final cut. Here's my track by track review: overshare: The lyrics are pretty relatable for an introvert like me, but I don't like the melody of the song. Her worst opening track and one of my least favorite Kelsea songs ever. 2/10 club: This one was the only song I really like from the pre-released songs and I listened to it a lot, but it's not as good as most from Unapologetically. 6/10 homecoming queen: Cute song, but that's it for me. The lead single should've been an uptempo track instead. 3/10 the other girl: Kelsea's and Halsey's voices sound pretty good together, I didn't expect that. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of this song, this should be the next single with a killer video! 4/10 love me like a girl: This is the first of two favorites of mine from the album. I love the pre-chorus and the chorus is so catchy. Even though the lyrics are pretty sad, I love that the soung is quite upbeat and summery. 9/10 love & hate: Overall, I really like this song. My only major problem with this one is, that the chorus only sounds like a pre-chorus and everytime I listen to this one, I expect the chorus to be really big. The strings are amazing tho! 7/10 bragger: I didn't like this one after the first listen, but it really grew on me, it's so catchy. Pretty thankful that such a fun song made the album, even though ballads are usually my favorites. 6/10 hole in the bottle: Don't like the lyrics, and don't like the melody. One of my least favorite Kelsea songs as well, even though it could do well on country radio. 1/10 half of my hometown: I really, really like this one. Their voices sound great together. It reminds me of High School, but High School is better. 8/10 the way I used to: The chorus is so damn catchy, really like this one as well. 8/10 needy: This is my second favorite song from the album, I absolutely love the instrumental part of this song, it sounds so dreamy with the electric guitars. 9/10 a country song: The song is pretty meh for me, filler. 2/10 la: Another one I'm pretty disappointed about, her "cute" songs are pretty, but that's it about it. 3/10 Overall, Unapologetically was much stronger (only IHLS was not my cup of tea) and not a single song on this album is better than Roses, Get Over Yourself, Machine Heart, High School, End Of The World and Graveyard for me. Overshare, homecoming queen, hole in the bottle, a country song and la should've been replaced with other songs. I really hope that someday the songs she posted snippets from (Underestimated, Dream Crusher, Therapy, Glad I Didn't Know) and other highly anticipated songs for me (Naive, Miss America, Graffiti) are going to leak (by Kelsea herself) or I get some other chance to listen to them. I'm pretty devastated that not a single one of them made the cut. I even downloaded the snippets and listen to them sometimes on my iPod. For the future, I probably won't listen to anymore snippets, because the chances are very low that the songs will be released.

I love it, it's another great album. I don't know if she's even put a foot wrong yet.

Definitely my least favorite album of hers by quite a bit. There just aren't as many high moments on this one as her previous two. Even my top 3 favorites (3. Homecoming Queen, 2. LA, 1. Hole in the Bottle) don't come close to topping to my top 3 favorites off her last two albums (1. Peter Pan, 2. Love Me Like You Mean It, 3. Dibs // 1. Get Over Yourself, 2. Miss Me More, 3. In Between). Her albums never have any bad songs, but there's always a good chunk of the album I don't care much for and this one seems to have even more of that.
Overall ranking for me right now:
1. Hole in the Bottle 2. LA 3. Homecoming Queen 4. The Way I Used To 5. Half of My Hometown 6. The Other Girl 7. Club 8. Love Me Like a Girl 9. Bragger 10. Love and Hate 11. Needy 12. A Country Song 13. Overshare
I could do without ever hearing 8-13 again and I don't even like 4-7 that much. I had higher expectations for this album, so I'm a bit disappointed.

What? Really? I think Therapy, After Party, Underestimated and the It Takes Some Rain To Grow snippet all sound incredible. I would love all of them to make the album, but I don't think Kelsea will put so many ballads on KB3.
I think Kelsea said a while back that she shares the songs she likes but are probably not getting released, which means those are unlikely to make it to KB3, hence the point about not being excited. I think the vast majority of the songs she shared clips of during Unapologetically era never saw daylight, so no point in getting enthusiastic about these clips, since I think they will most likely end up on the studio floor... I also wonder if the shares these to gauge a reaction from the fans, since Roses was shared as a clip went kind of viral because people thought it sounded like a Taylor Swift song and she included that in the album. I also wonder why not simply release a couple of non album singles in between eras to give the fans their favourites (which they did with We Were Like) before jumping into the next project.
^I had relatively low expectations for this album given the previews we knew were unlikely to all make it to the album. I have to say I really like the highs on this album (Half of My Hometown and Hole In The Bottle for example) but there are several songs I find myself skipping or not wanting to relisten. I also don't know why this album is so short when streaming is about to become even more important, and physical units sales a going down.
I have only listened to the clips and a limited number of other demos but from the list we have on this thread I would have included these *
Girl I Used To Be The Way I Used To (Tequila Talk) * Flipphone Homecoming Queen * Afterparty Suit Up
A Country Song DiCaprio The Way I Used To* Needy* Dream Crusher* Love And Hate Underestimated* I Don't Care Therapy* Glad I Didn't Know*
(I think are most of the songs she previews/posted clips of)
Also find it funny the only song she sang live that I know of (Horizon) ended up not being released - not one of my favourites anyway.
I am very glad Kelsea made the album she wanted, but I know this is going to have a short live on my high rotation, and I hope they reconsider relauching a deluxe edition when we are finally allowed to go outside again (hopefully by the end of the summer) and we can have a tour!

And I get that it's coming with good intensions, but fans will obviously like some snippets and then would love to hear the full songs. I overplayed a lot of the snippets and like a lot of them more than the full songs on the album. So I decided to stop listening to unreleased song snippets in the future. I would love her to release more songs they way she did with We Were Like, as fan gifts tbh. She wrote and recorded so many songs, it's sad that most of them will never be heard by her fans who don't have connections to the music industry.

I agree with most of the comments in the thread, the album is so much weaker than her others and the more I listen I thought songs would grow on me and they just haven’t.
Bragger, though, still slays.

Honestly, maybe this one just didn’t hit right for me? I listened to it a few times and then it just completely slipped off my radar somehow. Only a few songs seem to have longevity for me. Maybe it’s about timing. Maybe one day I’ll come back to it and find something exciting. I’m not sure.
But…I still maintain the album feels a little confused. Both in terms of production and song choices. Was there a lot of meddling behind the scenes, perhaps? Even the title. She said she chose it because it’s the most personal of her albums but Unapologetically feels several times more personal? Songs like Hole In The Bottle and Love and Hate feel strangely generic. There are songs like The Other Girl (which I love), but don’t seem to be reflective of Kelsea’s experiences (-definitely not at the present moment-), but rather something of a creative writing exercise. Which is fine, I appreciate when artists use their imagination, but when someone promises their most personal album I expect less songs like that. I feel like they (those in charge of finalising the tracklisting) very much played into what people might want to hear in both pop and country demographics instead of making something unique and complete within it’s own vision.
Don’t get me wrong, I like some of the songs a whole lot, but as an album it doesn’t have that longevity for me. I think like many people here I had high expectations and they just weren’t met. Still holding out hope that the next album will be phenomenal. I see a lot of potential in her.

I love both but that mix is great and would’ve fit perfectly on the album.

I don't think it helped her that the album came out right in the middle of the pandemic so her launch press didn't happen but her momentum feels like its at an all-time low.

I don't think it helped her that the album came out right in the middle of the pandemic so her launch press didn't happen but her momentum feels like its at an all-time low. I really hope the other girl is a hit but if not I think they need to send Half of My Hometown to the radio. I actually like this album, but literally she had the worse luck ever with timing for this launch. I watched the Instagram she did with Shane McAnally and you could tell she was trying to be really positive about this but still bummed that all her plans went down the drain.
The other possibility would be to re-launch the album with a deluxe (with this new other girl version if it's a hit plus some new songs - she played a funny one about quarentine that I could see being included given the impact on the release) once we are out of quarentine and she can tour. I am slightly concerned by the reports that we might need social distancing into the fall of 2021, because I can't see a large part of the music business surviving if musicians can't tour for 18 months.

I hope well get a part two with the other half of the songs. It's so interesing to see how songs come to life, I wish this was more detailed and longer!

I could not get into Kelsea's first 2 albums, but this one is my favorite album of the year so far. I'm thoroughly enjoying it! For me, her maturity level and overall taste in songs written/recorded has GREATLY improved.

That was a good video. The behind the scenes was probably unplanned and that's why they only did some songs. They probably just used whatever footage she happened to have filmed on her phone or put on instagram stories.
Just a note that my site Kelsea's Roses is back up and running. Did some updating to the site so it was down for a week. I'm currently working on updating my Taylor I.C. site and hope to put that back up in the near future.

Not sure how to add the video here, but Kelsea's acoustic set for iHeartRadio First Responder Fridays is worth listening to, the acoustic version of The Other Girl is a personal favourite. It's on Facebook here.

I think we may be getting the HITB music video soon. On her recent Instagram post she commented “🍷🎥 + ♍️🩰🪕” when asked for hints on what the “fun” was. Someone deciphered it to be HITB Music Video on her Birthday (Sept 12).
