“The One in the Middle” was the debut song by Sarah Johns and was the first single from her debut album Big Love in a Small Town. Written by Sarah, Jason Sellers, and Lynn Hutton, the song became her only top 40 charting hit. While this was an early bottom 5 contender it was able to rebound as it received a handful of top 30’s and 20’s. This even looked like it might be able to sneak into the top 30 as George Strait Junkie placed this as his #1 song and along with that he becomes our second participant to lose their top song while LBTrocks is the only other one to depart with a top 10. In the end, though, this was never able to recover from the two bottom 5’s it received near the end from BackwoodsBarbie and toomuchboy .

"Finding A Good Man" = jam
Did not like the Alison Krauss tune
"The one In the middle" is an epic JAM!!!!!! LOVE the vocals, melody, arrangement, instrumentation, and how everyone was flipping off the camera in the video Especially the kids! LOVED that!

For the final two songs of the evening we'll see the 7th most polarizing song exit and with them are two top 5's and three top 10's along with three bottom 5's including a last place...

“Satisfied’ was the debut single from Ashley Monroe and was released in 2006. Slated to be the lead single from the album of the same name, the song failed to make the top 40 and soon a second single was released to country radio where it only became a minor hit. Ashley and her label Columbia Records would part ways in late 2007 and it wouldn’t be until May of 2009 when the album would finally be released digitally. Between that time, though, Ashley scored hits as a songwriter with both “The Truth” by Jason Aldean and Miranda’s “Heart Like Mine” becoming number one hits. This probably performed about as well as I had expected although I wouldn’t have guessed it to be quite so polarizing. LBTrocks will probably continue giving everyone the middle finger as he loses a top 5 just right after seeing a top 10 leave (along with his #1 from the previous set of reveals!) while SHOOTER loses his second top 10. At the other end, however, we see two participants say goodbye to a bottom 5 including BackwoodsBarbie who sees their last place song exit. The rest of us put this somewhere within their top 50 or top 40 and while a handful placed this inside their top 20 there just wasn’t enough support to get this any higher.

"Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of Love” was released as the first single and title track to the album of the same name in the summer of 2007. Peaking just inside the top 20, this became Trisha Yearwood’s first single in nearly three years to became a major hit on country radio. This remained a consistent top 40 contender for most of the time and even briefly snuck into the top 30 thanks to someguy who departs with a top 10 along with Troublemaker . While this did see varied support from a couple top 20’s and top 30’s it ended up getting weighted down by 7 top 50 placements including a lone bottom 5 from toomuchboy .

If Georgia Rain was featured instead i would have put it in a much higher place than 30. One of my absolute favorite country songs of all time.

Both times I've tried to be out and about downtown at night, mass shootings took place, one of which killed 6 people.

If Georgia Rain was featured instead i would have put it in a much higher place than 30. One of my absolute favorite country songs of all time. It was a close second for my choice but I was looking for something a bit more upbeat by the time I got around to choosing a song from Trisha lol. “Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of Love” is one of those songs that has really grown on me throughout the yeas and I like it much more today than I did back when it was released. I guess we should be drinking alone! LOL When in doubt I always take Betty White’s advice...

I did want to add that when it came to Alison Krauss I wrestled with a handful of songs including “The Lucky One”, “Restless”, and even briefly thought of including “Down to the River to Pray” from the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack. The one song, though, that I really wanted to include was “New Favorite” which is the title track to the album with Union Station that was released in 2001. It never really fit into the This One’s for the Girls theme, however, so I opted for something different but it goes without saying this has long been one of my favorite songs by her.

I was worried "Simple Love" would get eliminated too... Well now I'm down to just 6 of my top 12 left. One of those is my #1 which I hope will last a while longer, and the others are all by pretty big name artists so hopefully they stick around too...

I love Krauss and Yearwood, but both these songs were dull to me. The vocal for "The One in the Middle" is sooo bad...

"Simple Love" is such an exquisite vocal and production, plus I just love the message of the song, all around one of my favorites of the decade! Ashley Monroe came out swinging with her debut, to me this was such a stand out on radio back in 2006, I thought her talent would make her a superstar for sure. I really wish Danielle had stuck around a bit longer as I did enjoy her, "Finding A Good Man" was my least favorite of her singles but it was still a jam. "Heaven, Heartache, And The Power Of Love" is also a jam, but I always wished there was a bit more lyrically to it. "The One In The Middle" is fun! Her vocal is slightly on the grating side but it works with the material imo. Also a shame she apparently fell right off the face of the earth.

All those extras you posted would've ranked a bit higher on my list than the one you chose (except maybe Alison's). I'm surprised "The One in the Middle" came as far as it did, honestly. I quite like it, but her album has at least about 5-6 other songs that I easily prefer to that one, including the title track (which is my favorite of her's!) and the other single from it ("He Hates Me"). Trisha deserved better tho for sure. HH&TPOL is such a superb vocal performance and the production is so enjoyable. "Georgia Rain" is my #1 favorite song of her's though and that would've easily been in my top 10 here.

I like Alison Krauss's music a lot and ballads such as Simple Love really suits her. She has this heavenly voice that shines the most when she sings slow songs without prominent instrumentation and give them elegance and softnes only she can. Lyrics of Simple Love are also very close to me.
Satisfied - I just can't stand the way she sings this song, it's completely unlistenable to me. I didn't want to put Ashley Monroe on the bottom of my list, because I like her music a lot (The Blade is masterpiece and so is her work with Pistol Annies especially Interstate Gospel)... But I relly don't like this song.
Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love - I love Trisha's music, she is one of my all time favourite artists and Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love is an excellente album. The only problem is that Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love is one of my least favourite songs on that album. If song like We Tried, Nothin Bout Memphis, This is Me You're Talking To or any single from Inside Out (I Would've Loved You Anyway is simply amazing) or Jasper County (Georgia Rain <3) would be picked I would put it in my top 5. So I'm kind of disappointed to see Trisha Yearwood leaving in the bottom half of this rankdown because she released so many great songs in the 2000s.

“Fearless” was released as the fifth and final single from Taylor’s second studio album of the same name. The song became her tenth consecutive top ten hit and while it was released in 2010 the album era itself began in late 2008 so this ended being the only exception I made as the other songs were all released during the first decade. This had enough early support to be a potential top 20 contender and not even the first bottom 5 and last place from castleoblivion26 put much of a dent in this…that was until a string of bottom 5’s rolled in including another last place ranking from George Strait Junkie . This ended up falling further and further back into the pack where it finally was able to settle within the top 40. Unfortunately for nickd he loses a top 5 right off the bat along with ClevelandRox while austin says goodbye to his first top 10. And what should come as no surprise “Fearless” ended up coming in as the second most polarizing song of the rankdown.

“My, Oh My” was released as the second single from The Wreckers debut album and was a top 10 hit for them in 2006. Coming in as the 8th most polarizing song, the trendline for this was really quite varied as it bounced around quite a bit at the beginning and even dipped back into the top 50 when ClevelandRox delivered a bottom 5 ranking. .indulgecountry ’s top 20 gave this a new life and it continued to steadily climb thanks to a string of top 5’s from George Strait Junkie , d3vin44 , and SHOOTER along with a top 10 from Cody Wants Out... . “Leave the Pieces” would’ve been my first pick for the rankdown but since it was already a two-time rankdown champ (2006 Country Rankdown and Cody Wants Out... ’s Country Groups Rankdown) I opted to go with their second single.
