Blanco got 21 adds this week. That's honestly a few more than I was expecting but he's got a powerful label pushing this and they're going hard with its sales and streams, its HCS achievement. They sent a folder booklet on Blanco and "The Git Up" to programmers before this one impacted. ETA: LOL, BBR/BMG put out six ads for “The Git Up” in Country Aircheck’s weekly PDF tonight. Usually, you see a song get one, maybe two...six!! Just one of them here.

I mean, props to this dude for getting some cash and recognition incredibly quickly. Obviously not country, but it’s all about the gimmicks and this one is fun/silly enough to hold my attention for a month or so haha.

This is now #1 on iTunes All Genre, and since Blake Shelton's "God's Country" is now falling and losing airplay, and losing momentum, I see this sadly returning to #1 on Monday's Billboard Update for Hot Country Songs :(.

This is very catchy and I honestly wouldn't be too surprised to see this become a Top 40 airplay song and #1 Hot 100 song. While it doesn't strike me as mainstream country, it's going to resonate with dancers and those on the pop/country preference side.

While it doesn't strike me as mainstream country, it's going to resonate with dancers and those on the pop/country preference side. The fact this one already got 35 adds its first two weeks at radio is a great sign. It's already up to #49 on Billboard Country Airplay. I see this making the top 40 and even top 30 is a possibility. The sense I get however is there are too many people who won't warm up to this being in heavy rotation next to other songs in station logs -- yes, that's a bit of an ironic statement, considering many mainstream country singles are basically pop-lite releases but this one is pretty out there, the talking lyrics and just the overall structure will cause very polarizing views on the song. It will continue to be a huge stream/seller however, which is precisely why BBR/BMG released this.

I heard this on Sirius and was beyond confused because I had not seen this thread. I immediately looked up the "artist" delivering this country song and thought it must be a Sirius only situation but alas, its on the chart.
Crazy times!

Another 13 adds for this one, so it is up to 48 adds on the Mediabase panel. Songs with similar total adds so far are Walker Hayes’ “Don’t Let Her” at 47 and High Valley’s “Single Man” also with 47 adds for reference.

Enters the top 50 for first time on Mediabase at #50 with 624 spins (up 80 spins from a week ago) and up from #57 a week ago.

This one hit a wall at radio. "The Git Up" keeps bleeding spins, losing nearly 50 spins the past three weeks and 300k of total audience on Mediabase. #48 has been its highest point so far at Mediabase.
Definitely getting the feeling some early testing came back in markets and it was polarizing. Only one add this week too, for 68 stations; that's also not helping it climb. I think this song as already peaked at radio but BBR/BMG already knew that could happen. It's a huge hit in sales and streams, so that's what they'll continue to hang their hat on.

I actually expected this to get a bit farther on country radio than it did, so I'm pleasantly surprised it's about done. That said, it seems that it peaked on CHR/Top 40 about a week ago as well (where it performed better and came just short of reaching the top 20), so I guess it makes sense if even they're done with it. Definitely ready for this to just completely go away, honestly.

This and OTR and anything resembling these sounding songs have no business on country radio anyways so good riddance.
