I know that it's the freeze, but she's kind of losing pace compared to 10,000 and DM.. As absolutely annoying as that is, it makes sense. Those two songs are Hot 100 top 10s, this is not; so it is reasonable for radio to push those two into the top 10 ahead of Dua - because those are the bigger hits. |

Dua still has a sizeable lead over "Time" while a few tracks will go recurrent/make their way out of the top ten soon, so there is room for her there soon.
I'm just anxious about the callout scores though. I think the song has enough universal appeal that the US markets won't do it dirty, but past scores from other great songs with said appeal have not faired well.

This holding stable on the Hot 100 despite the Christmas songs is a great sign. This will definitely reach a new peak when the christmas songs die out.

Crazy that this will only be her second Top 10 hit (third counting features). Her profile seems so much larger! she's definitely more of a global sensation. I'm honestly glad she's established herself in the us without a proper follow-up to "New Rules", I was worried about the second album. (I know she released singles after "New Rules" but none of them even reached top 40 -- I was over the moon when this debuted at #30.) |
