WFQY seems to have ditched classic hip-hop and is simulcasting WJMF-LP...at least for now. WPBQ may soon simulcast WJMF-LP as well.
- WFQY (970 AM/ [W256BL] 99.1 FM;
BDay 99-1): classic hip-hop hits (simulcast of WJMF-LP) - WJMF-LP (87-7 The Bridge): classic hits
- WPBQ (1240 AM/ [W232DD] 94.3 FM;
The Voice of the People): urban variety classic hits (expected to simulcast WJMF-LP?)

Seems to be an ongoing trend across the country. We have a local Classic Hip-Hop station (The Vibe) that still is around but who knows how much longer.

I'm really surprised that classic Hip Hop isn't a more popular format on FM radio

I enjoy the Classic Hip-Hop format, and I hope it gains more traction soon.

We've had a classic hip hop on a local station for a few years (Cumulus "The Vibe" format.) I listened initially when they debuted but mostly listen to Sirius in the vehicle now. Funny, I spent nearly 25 years total in the radio business and I rarely, if at all, listen to commercial radio anymore.
