Dropped out of the radio top 20 today - first day it wasn't in the top 20 since Feb 24, 2020.

It's gonna take a lot for any other song to catch up to this one in sheer longevity, this track benefitted immensely from no competition. The song dropped at the right time in the right place, most of the big hitters would've likely dropped in succession last year if the pandemic didn't exist, but because of that BL was able to survive forever and obtain all these records. You can look at the decade end chart predictions thus far and see just how far a head BL is, it's like a million point difference. No song will ever catch up to it, at least for a long time.

2.5B streams, 400M behind Shape Of You. For the first time in years we have a real challenger for a new leader on Spotify. BL is gaining around 1.9M streams/day and losing every week. Shape Of You has been gaining around 900K streams/day consistently for over a year. If BL keeps losing over 200K streams per week, which it has been doing most weeks, it will never surpass Shape Of You. It needs to stabilize soon to have a chance. I think it will surpass Shape Of You eventually.

I wouldn't say for the first time in years. Dance Monkey was and still is on track to surpass Shape of You as well, but this just came along and will wind up doing it faster. Pretty soon Shape of You will not only lose the all-time slot, it will fall to #3.

And then there was one. The only notable chart on which Blinding Lights is still active is AC

Still weird to think this dethroned a song that's been the number one song for what, 60 years? Iconic chart run.

Falls off the Hot 100 after 90 weeks Because of an album bomb, no less. It’ll likely be within the top 25 again after Kanye/Drake subside. Billboard wouldn’t allow it to re-enter if so, right?

Would have to gain substantially on at least two metrics. And Drake is gonna push it even further down this week... it's gone barring some sort of unexpected push.

Pretty soon Shape of You will not only lose the all-time slot, it will fall to #3. This is so wrong. Dance Monkey is only getting around 1M streams per day nowadays which is only around 70K streams more than Shape Of You. And considering Dance Monkey is still losing streams while Shape Of You has remained almost exactly the same for over a year, there's no way Dance Monkey will ever overtake Shape Of You. Give it a few weeks and Shape Of You will be above Dance Monkey on the daily charts. Blinding Lights is the only real challenger in years

No, Billboard does not return songs from recurrency any more willingly than Mediabase. For BB, the song has to have a surge of activity to qualify for a return. While Blinding Lights did in January after the holiday season ended, there's zero reason to believe that will happen here.
