Have you heard his last few albums? It’s the singles and then a bunch of mailed in tracks. In that case, yeah I agree with him, ditch the albums

This one is...different. I do like it so far but it will be polarizing for sure I feel like.

I'm really digging this one on first listen. It's very different and fresh from everything else on radio right now. Blake and Trace are a pretty good pair, especially on a song like this one.

This is such an odd song. It feels like maybe an interesting album track, and the chorus is catchy. But for radio it’s a lot of laconic spoken word, different production, & it’s short.

Why is Blake’s voice so damn drowned out in the chorus??

Yeah you’re either going to love this or hate this. I’m definitely the former. It’s just a fun song, but people are definitely going to find this polarizing. That chorus is straight up infectious. The only part I’m indifferent about is that weird auto tune on their voices before the first chorus. That line about getting a handle instead of a fifth is hilarious. Very relatable lol. Definitely won’t be a “God’s Country” level hit, boy, HARDY is sure good at writing absolute ear worms.

I gotta give Blake some props for taking chances. He took a chance on "God's Country" and that turned out to be one of the biggest hits of his career. I don't think "Hell Right" will get close to that level, but it's different and I think in a good way. I enjoy the humor in it. I hope this does well because I am all here for Blake continuing to take chances.

And I agree completely that Hardy is definitely talented in crafting some hit songs. FGL should keep him on retainer lol

FGL needs to release Hardy’s ear worm songs from their album then if they’re going to keep him as a songwriter for albums. Simple and Talk You Out Of It are probably 2 of their worst singles they’ve released as far as moving on the charts goes. This song though just on the first listen didn’t impress me like God’s Country did. It’s good but not as good as God’s Country. I really think it’s missing more Trace Adkins vocals. I think I’d like it more had he gotten a verse to sing like he did in Hillbilly Bone. I think this will however debut in the top 20-25 range or even inside the top 20.

I don't like this but I do like that his last two songs sound way different then his recent output. Less of the same old same old.

Is it just me or does anyone else hear a little bit of boys round here in this? Just maybe a bit slower is all.
I mostly don't care for this so far, but there is one part i really like....where the girls shut off the old town(road i would assume?)
I find myself questioning whether or not that actually what they are saying, but thats what it sounds like.

I thought it was referencing “Old Town Road” at first as well but when I checked the lyrics it’s apparantly O-Town and when I looked up what that was it is apparantly a 2000s boy band.

I guess the lyrics on Apple Music are wrong cause looking elsewhere it does seem to say Old Town. It’ll be interesting to see if Lil Nas X or anyone says anything about it.

Horrible is an understatement. I really hope radio doesn't embrace this in the long run.

Huge step down from "God's Country." This sounds like the product of throwing "Boys Round Here" and "Hillbilly Bone" into a blender... and the former in particular was an atrocity I wanted to forget. "Hell Right" isn't nearly as bad as "Boys Round Here," but this song leaves me a bit disappointed following one of the best releases of his career. I've never been too keen on Blake Shelton's music overall so I'm still not terribly surprised nor saddened, though.

I like the instrumentation and the production in the verse, but I'm not a fan of the 'vocal arrangement' in the verse if you can even call it that. Blake sounds awful, Trace is barely noticeable but he sounds awful too, and the chorus totally loses me. This is not something I'll be revisiting, and it's sad that we went from "God's Country" to this.

I love this one. I listened to it only twice the day it came out and the next morning I woke up and the melody was stuck in my head already. I think there is a tendency on this board for us to universally reject any country song that doesn't have top-notch lyrical content. But life isn't so serious 24/7 and country music shouldn't be either.
This has held pretty strong on iTunes since its release. I also saw Blake live and he played this in his set so he must be pretty excited about it. If I remember correctly, he typically wouldn't add in his current single until it was a little more familiar to people.

I finally heard this the other day and hated it. Just the sound of them singing Hell Right just bothers me enough that I can't get into it. Maybe someday my opinion will change but not a fan of this and it is sad because I really liked "God's Country", so was hoping I'd like this too

"God’s Country" might be my favorite Blake Shelton song ever, but this is absolutely his worst effort yet imo.

Not that this is doing badly by any means, but I thought that it would be moving more quickly than it is. Week 4 on Billboard, and it's #27, still not matching its initial inflated #26 debut.
