Ouch lol I liked these all better than you did, the Lindsay one though you did make me pay more attention to the production. I do wish the guitar work stood out more.

I tried commenting on the blog but Wordpress wouldn’t let me log in lol My biggest issue in listening to Aldean these days is he isn’t saying anything new, and I don’t mean in the history of music, but for himself. He’s going the the motions and it’s working so I guess why bother to improve? I just have a hard time believing this is what he moved to Nashville to do.

Sorry for just seeing this now, but did you mean a problem with just the WordPress site or my site specifically? If it's the latter, I apologize :( But I totally agree with your other thoughts. Weirdly enough, his biggest hits usually come when he steps away from his comfort zone, for better or worse ("Dirt Road Anthem," "Burnin' It Down," ... etc.), but his last few albums all just run together fairly quickly. "Rearview Town" at least some solid hits, but I can't see much from this album helping him hold onto that crown.

No was Wordpress as a whole, tried logging in somewhere else and it still wouldn't let me. Rearview Town had a bit of a spark to it that I was hoping would grow on this album considering there's a bit more of a trend right now towards more substantive material.

Here we go: 1. As far as Lady is concerned, Kenny Rogers said, "Lionel Richie comes from r&b and I come from country and we would meet somewhere in pop." Lady became Rogers' only solo triple #1 on three charts: country, Hot 100, and adult contemporary. It even peaked at #42 r&b. 2. As far as Coward Of The County is concerned, Rogers 'paid' the Gatlin Brothers back by having them sing backup on two Rogers' hits from 1984: Buried Treasure (#3) and Evening Star (#11).

I think Jessi's song is great especially compared to most singles these days, and while I do think going for either full humor or darkness probably would've led to a stronger overall song I'd personally bump up the rating by a point.
I may be biased though as I've been a big fan since her first album haha.

But hey, all fair points! I was pleasantly surprised to comb through her solo catalog and writing credits - I mean, I knew the name, but there were some surprise cuts for me I didn't realize she'd written. It's the same joy I felt when going through Lori McKenna and Erin Enderlin's solo works!
