Yep, one of the most iconic and probably THE most recognizable and referenced lyric in her entire catalog. This. Everyone knows that lyric. Anti-Hero is amazing. The things this song did are simply unfathomable. NO music video, and hardly any push at all, and here it is spending its 25th (?) consecutive week at the Top 3 of pop radio, and it’s the dead of winter, the middle of January. I don’t think we’ll see another song do this for decades.
And mind you, all this from a woman who’s entering the 18th year of her career, and will be turning that pop radio death age of 35 in December. She’s simply untouchable, and it’s been an absolute joy to witness.

There's a life cycle to every product or in this case musician and ageism or not, it will affect her radio performance. |
