I’m glad Tonight is becoming a single but what I’m really excited for is to see how f*cking bad the radio edit is.

OK, this is definitely my favorite Kesha album. It has more emotional songs than I thought it would and those are actually the best songs. It's like she took the confessional songs from Rainbow and made them 10x stronger and catchier. With the exception of Resentment (which is FLAWLESS), all of her pre-released songs are at the bottom of the album for me, with the exception of Tonight. Anyway, a B+ 1. Chasing Thunder (chills. maybe Kesha's best song period) 2. Resentment (wow. absolutely beautiful) 3. Shadow (vocals AND attitude. one of my fave Kesha songs ever) 4. Cowboy Blues (what a songwriter!) 5. Father Daughter Dance 6. Honey (come on now! I was sitting here rolling my shoulders and then I heard the lyrics and was like damn, who is THIS about?) 7. Birthday Suit (I love the video game sound effects) 8. BFF 9. Little Bit Of Love 10. Tonight 11. Raising Hell 12. Kinky 13. High Road 14. Potato Song 15. My Own Dance Glad to see I'm not the only person not in love with High Road. It's pretty good, but probably my least favourite on the album (ftr, my top 3 are My Own Dance, Kinky and Resentment).

It’s a bit strange that the melody to High Road and Shadow are almost identical. And the songs are back to back. And, really, are thematically the same. I don’t think that’s an accident.

This doesn’t come close to ‘Rainbow’ for me (yet), but that was never going to be a fair bar. Really love it though; it cements Kesha as a defining artist of my adult life.

Resentment, High Road, Little Bit of Love, Summer, Chasing Thunder, Raising Hell are the true standouts for me.

Overall i really like the album! Some of the songs give me Artpop vibes in that they’re a little messy — I love parts of High Road but not the entire song together. Resentment is BEAUTIFUL! Tonight is still one of my faves.
Overall 8/10

Projected to debut with 40-50k SPS (30-35k sales). Honestly, not terrible considering Raising Hell didn't chart.
Animal debuted at #1 with 152k.
Cannibal debuted at #15 with 74k.
Warrior debuted at #6 with 85k.
Rainbow debuted at #1 with 117k SPS (90k sales).

Deserved so much more, but after Raising Hell I expected worse.

I like how it’s looking like this is going to debut higher than Cannibal with less sales.

I wish this was expected to do more but yeah, without a solid hit, I’ll take a top 5 album from her. I don’t think anything on the album is terribly radio-friendly (could only see Kinky really, but with the lyrical content..) unless she decides to put a song or two out to HAC. I think a few of the tracks could do decently there but I’m not sure how receptive HAC is to her.

She should send Resentment to Country, AC and Hot AC formats.

Resentment might do something at Hot AC/Country.
Summer and High Road are probably the best chances at Top 40 (albeit small). A Little Bit of Love is a dark horse IMO though. It's one of the most straight up poppy on the album.

I can't see country getting on board with any song where Kesha is billed first. They have a hard enough time getting on songs by actual female country musicians. "Resentment" could pull off a "Good Ol' Days" like run on Hot AC, though, with possible transfer to decent hit status on pop. That's still a pretty big maybe, though.
I just frankly don't see anything from this album becoming a hit. It's a good album, but none of it is on trend or particularly inventive enough to spark new trends. There are a few memeable moments that could go viral on Tik Tok, but even at that, not all songs from there become hits and not all songs worthy of becoming a meme actually do.

She’s talked about wanting to do a full country album before I believe. If Resentment got sent I’d assume her team would just be testing the waters to see if she could pull off a fully country album.

The Mario Brothers rip on Birthday Suit, plus the bright chorus, is just heaven. The more I listen to this album, the more I love it.

Projected to debut with 40-50k SPS (30-35k sales). Honestly, not terrible considering Raising Hell didn't chart. Now projected to debut at #7 with 42-47k SPS (but only 8-11k sales 🤭).

I could see “Honey” being huge and potentially becoming a TikTok song. That song fits the current music climate the best and probably should have been the lead single.

She lost the case. The judge sided with Dr. Luke and she has to pay $370k for defamation.
I’m truly heartbroken.

High Road is 100x better than Rainbow.
Here are the ones I like: 1. Chasing Thunder 2. Tonight 3. Summer 4. High Road 5. Shadow / Resentment / Father Daughter Dance / Little Bit of Love / Kinky
For the Singles: 1. Raising Hell (can we forget this one existed and pretend the second single is actually the first?) 2. Tonight (perfect for spring) 3. Summer (I feel like the production could use more of a kick, but it's catchy) 4. Chasing Thunder (realistically based on the success of RH, there most likely will not be a 4th single, but a girl can dream)

Luckily the public sides with her. This won't harm her (other than paying the money).
