Two songs this decade that hit #1 when the artists behind them were/are teenagers. Which one do you prefer?

don't really like either song but will go with Bad Guy mostly because i like the part where she goes "Duh" followed by the instrumental break.

Honestly, "bad guy." "Royals" means a lot to me on a personal level that few songs ever could, and I definitely loved the fuck out of "Royals" in 2013 AND 2014, but it's 2019 now. I love "Royals" still for what it is and what it means to me, but "bad guy" is the better song and the one I'll be returning to more often.
That being said, I prefer Pure Heroine to WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? and Lorde to Billie Eilish in general.

"Bad Guy." I never was a huge fan of "Royals" (though I liked it enough in 2013).

I stan Ella so hard but out of these, I prefer "bad guy". This. Lorde has the better body of work so far though.

I prefer Lorde to Billie overall but I like "bad guy" more than "Royals," which was both great and only like the fifth best song off her debut.

Both are great, but "Royals" is so perfect.

Royals still resonates for me.
I think Bad Guy might be one of Billie's weaker songs.

When "Royals" first came out, I thought it danced on the darker edge of pop, but once Billie Eilish hit the scene Lorde songs suddenly became very Disney. I'm on "Team" Lorde.

Royals is definitely the better song and it just feels a lot more iconic to me.

Both are genuinely good songs that have aged poorly for me. My vote is for Royals.

I didn't like Royals back then and while I've softened on it a bit, still not a fan. Lorde's done way better.
bad guy for me
