Call-out scores are in and they are not terrible, not great as Ashley McBryde is tied for last in Pop Score, as she is on the lower end of the positive score and has the third highest negative score. Not great but the familiarity can work things out and it is definitely manageable and the bullet on Mediabase (254) definitely does seem like country radio is converting this song at least somewhat.

I am hoping this can sail all the way to #1 even if callout isn't looking amazing (see: "I Hope You're Happy Now"). That has me thinking, though... what on earth are they going to send to radio next. This is by far the most radio friendly song on the album. I just thumbed through it and I'm honestly stumped. Any ideas?

I think those three are probably her best shot at another hit, though I would also love to see a "Sparrow" release too. "One Night Standards" has done far better than I thought it would, so I hope they keep pushing it as far as they can. It is fantastic to see Ashley McBryde in country radio's top 20. I had my doubts that that would ever happen.

First Thing I Reach For is too traditional, while Martha Divine is as loud as new Eric Church song lol. I would add Sparrow as a possible choice of next single.

Are we ignoring the title track?! I think itโs pretty radio-friendly and I would love hearing it on the radio.

It fills me with giddiness and joy to see Ashley in the Top 20, especially with this wonderful song!! Beginning to get cautiously optimistic about a #1 finish--or Top 5 at least! As for the next single, I would go with "Martha Divine" or "Never Will."

Officially her first Top 15 single as "One Night Standards" moves up 2 spots to #15 on Mediabase gaining 278 spins and 1429k in audience.

Love seeing this one moving right on up. It seems to have been hitting a stride the last month or two, as its putting up consistently solid gains while also moving up nicely in iTunes positions.
Honestly, I'd be a little surprised if "Hang in There Girl" isn't the next single from the album. They have a few possible options that may work, but that seems like the obvious one if they want to go a safer route. Something that's more of a gamble like "Sparrow" could still be saved for single #3.

This has been doing pretty well on the charts here, but I just noticed this one is all the way up to #4 in Canada right now (for comparison: it's #15 in the US). It's very uncommon for newer artists like this to chart higher in Canada than in the states, so that's pretty interesting to note.

Given her minimal commercial impact thus far, it's nice to see this one selling really well right now. I hope it can keep chugging along and she can possibly be added to the growing list of female #1s this year @ country radio. *fingers crossed*

The good thing that I can see is that when she finally breaks out commercially, critics can safely push her as critic darling and so she will be a staple in the mainstream.

Has there ever been an openly LGBTQ+ artist hit the top 10 on Billboard Country Airplay? Definitely rooting for the song itself, but would really, really love to see Ashley secure that feat (#1 would be even more awesome).

Hopefully she can make the top 10 and be the first openly LGBTQ+ artist in a long time (if ever) on Country Airplay.

One Night Standards have become recurrent on the small markets now. People already knew that KD Lange and Ty Herndon were gay before they came out. Chely Wright, Lil Nas X, Brandi Carlili, Shane McAnnally, Brandy Clark, Billy Gilman, Shelly Fairchield and some others are like that. I think both Lil Nas X and Ty Herndon both helped paved the way for gay artists to come into the charts. Orville Peck is the next artist to hit the top 40.

But I am pretty sure that for all these artists they came out as gay after they had hit the Top 10, in which I looked it up only Chely Wright did back in 1999. Also in regards to Ty Herndon he did not come out as gay until 2014 well after his radio career was well over.

The rumors about Ty was back in around 1996 or somewhere around that time period, was arrested for drugs and exposing himself to a male under cover cop. That was the time he gave himself away even though Ty, his wife and his management denied that rumors. He did came out in 2014 that they did tried to cover it up. I forgot that Garth Brook's sister was gay, and she was a band member for him.

Is Ashley McBryde openly LGBT though? I've seen it mentioned on Pulse previously, but that's literally the only place I've ever seen it alluded to. There's nothing I can ever find online that designates her as being a member of the LGBT community. I can believe it, but I'd like further confirmation on it, honestly.

I could've sworn Ashley being in the LGBTQ+ community was a public thing. If she's not, this is certainly a Mandela Effect that has hit me really hard ๐

Is this one gonna make it all the way up to #1? It's been stuck between #11-13 for like a month now.

I have this weird feeling that this song will peak in the 10-5 area for some reason. Still a major success for Ashley. I hope she follows up with Martha Divine as that has streamed and sold well already.

I really hope this doesnโt get the same treatment as Cody Johnsonโs On My Way To You did. Great song that just barely misses the top 10. Hopefully this will reach the top 10 and Iโm having high hopes for Codyโs Dear Rodeo as well. Not that itโll matter though.
