I wasn't expecting that. I was sure ROSALIA would be featuring on "Save Your Tears" instead as the rumours were suggesting.
But it sounds intriguing, not gonna lie. Looking forward to its release.

Glad it's not for Save Your Tears, I just don't like her voice. Karol G >

The Weeknd was my 5th most listened artist of 2020 according to Spotify. He should thank After Hours, my fave album of him.

So is the campaign to make BL the biggest song of all time rather than boost another song from the album? Maybe this was intended to give the song a second life during Grammy voting? Seems random but I'm looking forward to it regardless.

I think out of all the songs on the album, there’s only 3 of them which haven’t got a single/promo, music video or live performance treatment (Hardest to Love, Escape from LA and Repeat After Me). I don’t think they were even featured in the short film for after hours either. Anyways this era has seen the most love that Abel did for any album of his and im all down for this

"Snowchild" is my current obsession

I still can't believe Grammys had the audacity to snub this great album. Well, good luck booking that stage they're speaking of, i don't think they'll be able to handle a full audience show in March.

Well, good luck booking that stage they're speaking of, i don't think they'll be able to handle a full audience show in March. ok but that stage was gonna be empty regardless of Abel's presence. I would love to know eventually what went down behind the scenes. The album I can kinda get why it would not show up.. (although some of the replacement nominees are... way worse). But "Blinding Lights" is an iconic, massive, critically acclaimed record. It's exactly what should be rewarded on these shows.

I expect him to open with BL and after that SYT, closing either The Morning or High For This. Do you guys expect more songs pre-BBTM? Hills and Starboy are locked too imo. Hopefully he performs at least 10 songs.

I think his #1 hits are all gonna be there, except mayyyyybe "Heartless". Aside from those I think it's safe to say "Save Your Tears" will make it, but "In The Night" won't.
If we get a Daft Punk guest appearance, probably safe to expect some sort of "Starboy"/"I Feel It Coming" mashup with some sort of cameo from "Get Lucky" or "Harder, Better, Faster..."

Hopefully he performs at least 10 songs. I think he'll open with Starboy (or The Hills), and finish with Blinding Lights. Maybe he'll perform one song pre-BBTM, just for his fandom.

It's not like acts haven't ignored complete eras before. Lady Gaga failed to include a single second of the ARTPOP album on her show. And I'm sure if Katy did the Super Bowl this year we would get zero Witness songs, and maybe just a cameo of "Never Really Over" to represent Smile.

It will be so iconic if Daft Punk will be the guest performer.

He's going the GHV2 route with no new tracks on the compilation. Still, very wise to release a compilation right before the Super Bowl. Even though the album itself may not sell a huge amount, it likely will e his biggest-selling album in a given week, and all the streams/activity for the hits will go to said album.

It’s interesting because even though the album has been out a year, Blinding Lights for over a year, it seems like The Weeknd is bigger now than ever and his era is reaching new peaks so late after its release. It’s definitely with the SuperBowl buzz and the post-Grammys discussion, but this tour announcement seems big (and ambitious for a hopeful post-covid world) as I think it’s the first big world tour announced. It feels like he’s the biggest pop star right now and he’s doing it while his most recent music is a year old!

Am I wrong for wanting a new album before he goes on tour? Definitely not. There were some rumors about Abel already working on a new material, so IMO another album coming out this year is likely. There's no tour dates for May-August though - maybe he and his team saved this time for summer festivals but maybe he will launch his new era then.

I think new music is highly likely. It's a great idea to announce the tour around the Superbowl, then reignite interest in the fall with a new album. Any leftover tickets can get scooped up and he could add more dates/legs.

I'm gonna take all tour schedules with a huge grain of salt until I see some countries actually achieving herd immunity through vaccines.
But the idea of going bakck to a world where that big of a tour could happen, I like that.

His promo manager sure is hitting all the right spots with the greatest hits released today along with the tour reschedule before the Super Bowl performance.

I feel like if the dates for the tour were to begin in winter '22 I could see it happening. January still feels like a huge risk. Hopefully he extends the dates to Australia though. A world tour isn't just North America and Europe.

Very, very, very, early predictions see the Greatest Hits outperforming the 35k that After Hours brings in average during a normal week (duh). Hits will update post-performance.
