Sadly, the last album that Whitney made before she died years later. It was released on August 31, 2009 in the United States. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with sales of 305,000 copies and is to date her best opening week sales as well as the second best opening sales by a female artist for 2009. The album is her fourth number one album overall, and the first since The Bodyguard (1992). The album also debuted at number one on the US R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Week three sales spiked to 156,000 following her appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show. On December 1, 2009, the album was certified platinum by the RIAA for shipping one million copies.
What are your favorite tracks from this album? Mines are Million Dollar Bill, Nothin' But Love, I Got You, Like I Never Left, I Didn't Know My Own Strength, and For the Lovers. It was pretty good album overall.
I Look To You: #70 Hot 100, #16 R&B, #22 A/C, #35 Dance, #21 Jazz, #14 Gospel
Million Dollar Bill: #100 Hot 100, #1 Dance, #16 R&B

Her voice was sadly shot by the time she recorded this album. It's so mechanically processed on many of the songs. There were some good songs though. "Million Dollar Bill" is a gem.

Yes, I remember when listening to the samples back then, my mother and I felt completely flabbergasted about her vocals. It didn't sounded like the Whitney that we knew.

It was so lovely hearing new music from her after what seemed so long. However, I can't listen to it in the mix with most of her other material because of the drop in quality of her voice.
That said - Million Dollar Bill, Call You Tonight, Nothin' But Love were standouts and the album on the whole is solid.
Salute is an excellent kiss off to Bobby Brown as well, even if it's written by Robert Pedo Kelly.

Very sad that this was Whitney's last album, but she ended her recording career on a high note. This was a truly great album. "Million Dollar Bill" should have been huge, and "Call You Tonight" and "Nothin' But Love" are also fantastic. Her more AC fare, like "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" and "I Look To You" are great tracks as well. It's so unfortunate what happened to her, but she gave fans one last final excellent album.

This is my least favorite Whitney album but it still had some highlights like "I Got You", "Call You Tonight", "Million Dollar Bill", and "For The Lovers".
I wouldn't care if I never heard the rest again.

I like this album. I'm a huge Whitney fan and was prepared for what she was going to sound like vocally. I feel like they could have polished up her vocals in places etc but it is what it is. When "Like I Never Left" leaked I really liked it. I wasn't sure if it could smash but I grew to LOVE it. Then came the "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" leak which wasn't much different from the album version. I really got into it after a few listens. It took me awhile to get into "I Look To You" the song. However I really liked "Million Dollar Bill" and when the album got released "Worth It" was an instant favorite. "Call You Tonight" was nice and I liked "For The Lovers and Nothin But Love". "A Song For You" could have been better if the opening wasn't speedy sounding. However I loved the dance section. "I Got You" was ok. I grew to like it and "Salute" is cute. As a whole I enjoy the "I Look To You" album. I believe this album is where she was vocally on good days at the time. I saw all the promo appearances at the time and some sounded a little better and some sounded worse vocally than the album.

At least we got Million Dollar Bill from it. That's about all I come back to from this album.
