The bubbly artist has had a busy year. She recently wrapped her third album, due out some time next year. "It's pop music, but it's just a very big surprise, a big shock of material. I've experimented a lot so I'm excited to hear what people think," she said.

Phoenix was great (deserved better) and there are a handful of great songs on it. I'll be checking whatever she releases next.

The problem with 'Phoenix' was how long it took for the project to eventuate. Hopefully this time it takes far less singles to get the album out - though that said, a bish had no excuse the UK was giving her hits left and right.

Exactly. I'm still mad we didn't get at least 2 albums she's recorded after her debut.

These days it's important to release most if not all the singles before the album release because post-album singles often underperfom. Rita is a singles artist, so they should make sure they time the singles right.

I love Rita, but all of the non-album cycle singles she's released this year have pretty much flopped. Ritual esp. deserved way better. hopefully they can turn it around again. it was just a year ago that Let You Love Me was a huge hit. and still a JAM

I will always appreciate her for giving me Anywhere but after listening to the album a few times, that is the only song I keep. I will still pay attention to her new material though!

It wasn't released in the US so I can see how it can be overlooked. The album is a solid project but not releasing the full version of Facemelt is still a travesty.

Rita Ora talks "crazy, amazing, exciting" third album: "I want to turn people on their heads"
Rita has opened up about plans for her next album in a new interview.

Speaking to Music Week, Rita - currently Number 1 on the UK's Official Singles Chart as part of the Live Lounge Allstars - promised a "crazy, amazing, exciting direction" for her next album.

"I want to turn people on their heads, turn things around 360 and introduce some live instrumentation, experiment sonically, work with people I've never worked with before and do some more soulful tracks," she explained.

"Trying to meet expectations never goes to plan ... so I've been focusing on my own path, which is making amazing pop music, experimenting and making a new sound, being sonically proud."

Fans will have to wait a bit longer for the collection than they might have expected, however. Rita's manager Sarah Stennett said that due to the coronavirus pandemic, "it's very doubtful the album will come out this year."

Rita's last album, 2018's Phoenix, has shifted 183,000 chart sales in the UK and spawned a string of hits including Your Song, Anywhere and Let You Love Me.

Rita currently holds the record for most Top 10 singles scored by a British female, more than the likes of legends Shirley Bassey and Petula Clark, and other top performers from the past decade like Jess Glynne and Emeli Sande.

Phoenix was a surprisingly strong album. If it had come out when long eras were still a thing, I think she could've gotten 7-8 hits out of it (it helps that some were collabs). "Velvet Rope" specifically should've been a single. Best song on the album.

I'm definitely looking forward to new music. HTBL is pretty good, but she needs to come harder.
