It's crazy to think that label politics cost us a Lil Wayne x Drake x Post Malone song last year. Would have been earthshatteringly huge if it actually came out. I think they'll eventually collab. It's just not something Drake is going to rush. He's been cool wifh Cardi B for years now and they still don't have a song together. A lot of the hottest rappers and R&B singers that have come out in the past few years have all expressed wanting to work with Drake, but he always takes his time with collabs. Scooter Braun has been trying to make a collab with Ariana happen since 2016. Still, nothing. He works with people when he wants to.

Does anyone know what HITN would need to hit #1? It’s streaming numbers are slightly ahead of Circles on Spotify which debuted number 4. Would need significantly better longevity, since it will have weaker sales and radio. Circles debuted at 7 not 4. It got to #4 a week later from the album bomb

Wait, do songs usually gain a bunch of radio on weekends? Because Someone You Loved, Only Human, Circles, & Memories all gained more than 2 mil audience on kworb song estimates

Lol @ Ransom down to 32 on Spotify because of a bug/whatever you wanna call it.
Lil Tecca "re-released" his album with a new song, and if you have any track from the album without the new song, it doesn't play. So basically, anyone who has Ransom in their playlist under the "old album", can't stream the song.
Expect a big drop next week

Memories isn't unexpected as Maroon 5 are loved by radio. The only other exception that's relatively common is for high profile songs during their first weekend out. You probably recall that Me! debuted at #100 based only radio airplay.

But they are also fighting against Truth Hurts. It still has a massive 1.4 million stream lead over the 2nd most streamed song on Spotify, and probably an even bigger lead on AM, according to All Access it is getting big spins on Rhythmic and Urban radio and most importantly it has bundles. I don't see how it's automatically out of contention because it had a pretty normal drop for a big debut on Saturday, one of Spotify's worst days for streaming.

2.9M for Travis Scott on Spotify, I'll cancel that "gonna debut at #1" lol It all depends on how much he loses in streams when the update for Sunday comes in and how well he recovers on Monday. A #1 on Apple Music is only half the work that needs to be done to debut at #1. Lizzo is still gaining on radio and regardless of the push Travis gains on Rhythmic/Urban radio this week, he won't be crossing 25-30 million audience impressions (except he goes the DJ Khaled route and uses a radio deal).

So Memories won’t flop? Aww man... It might still flop in its current version. Radio might be the only thing keeping it afloat.

HITR's Saturday losses are standard for such a large debut on Spotify, see Sucker, ME! and I Don't Care for comparison. Ofcourse those songs had huge audience impressions but the latter two competed against a 900 point monster for #1. A combination of 40 million on-demand, 15 million YouTube, 15 million AI and 40k sales would probably be enough for HITR to seriously compete against Truth Hurts. Nothing is set in stone but I dont think it's outside the realm of possibility.

^ Travis doesn't even need any radio. That many sales and streams would be enough for #1 alone

Why are so many people rooting for Travis to get to #1 with an abysmal song? Take off your stan glasses and smell the roses.

^ Believing a song has a chance at debuting #1 based on its performance isn't fan bias, believing it doesn't have a chance because you don't like the song is.

shaz196 you basically just repeated what I said. We have to wait and see how the song performs throughout this weekend at the very least to get a handle of where it might debut.

Yeah the song isn't his best but it would be cool to see him get another #1.

I'm really happy for her especially because the album is a really good album and she stuck to her sound. She didn't try to chase hits and made really great R&B music. She really deserves it.

Summer Walker deserves to be successful right now. We need more R&B jams.

If there's one thing I love about the music industry, it's that trends always go around in circles. There was a time this decade when you could have easily made a case for R&B being dead. That has slowly shifted from 2015 till now. We've seen a resurgence of R&B in younger artists who also happen to be commercially successful.

Bandit's at #2 on AM now. Hopefully Juice gets another top 20 hit and NBA Youngboy gets his first.

anyone have HITR's radio numbers for the first two days?
Out of the crop of all these new songs I actually like The Bones the best by far. And Maren has the precedent for scoring a big crossover hit, so with Hozier's help, it would be great if she could do it again!

^It didn't appear in kworb's mediabase numbers. So, its audience was probably less than 5.
