Welcome to the Luke Combs Album Series!
Now, this is my first-ever rankdown and I'm very excited about it. I've been practicing for a good couple hours now on how to do standard deviations and all of that and now that I think I've got the hang of it, I'm ready to start what I hope will be my first of many cool rankdowns! I already have a couple other artists who I plan on doing an album series for who (in some cases, very shockingly) don't have one, but for now I'm going to start with Luke Combs since his catalogue is very short. Dude only has two albums (as of November 8) and some extras. Just a little bit of background info:
Luke Combs is a masterclass in overnight notoriety. Having been singing since he was a child, including a stint in high school with a vocal group where he performed a solo in the prestigious Carnegie Hall (!!!!!), he decided to drop out of college--weeks before he was set to graduate: it was his senior year--to move to Music City and pursue what would become an already legendary country music career.
After releasing three EPs (The Way She Rides in 2014 and 2015's Can I Get An Outlaw & This One's For You), the last of which featured songs that would later be included on his debut album of the same name, country music publication Sounds Like Nashville began to take notice and named Luke one of 2016's "Artists to Watch." Sure enough, Sony Music Nashville signed Luke Combs to the Columbia Nashville label. The label, in turn, released "Hurricane" to radio on October 3, 2016...and the rest is country music history.

This One's For You (2017-18)Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAfter releasing three EPs (2014's The Way She Rides and 2015's Can I Get An Outlaw and This One's For You), country music publications such as Sounds Like Nashville began to take notice of Luke Combs's storytelling abilities and vocal talent, and named him one of 2016's Artists to Watch. As if on cue, Sony Music Nashville signed Luke to Columbia Nashville and his debut single "Hurricane", which had initially peaked at #46 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart in 2015, was re-released and sent to country radio on October 3, 2016. The rest is country music history.
"Hurricane" hit #1 on the BB Country Airplay chart the week of May 15, 2017, and stayed there for two weeks. Week 2 at #1 gave Combs two distinctions: the first artist to have a multi-week number one debut single since Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" in 2012 and the first male solo artist to accomplish that since Darius Rucker's "Don't Think I Don't Think About It" in 2008.
On June 2, 2017, Luke's debut album, This One's For You, was released. After debuting at #5 on the BB 200 and #1 on the BB Top Country Albums chart, it dropped to #33 on the TCA chart. From there on, album sales were a bit lackluster. However, in June 2018, Luke released a deluxe edition of his debut album, re-titling it This One's For You Too. The re-release prompted the album to fly right to a new peak of #4 on the BB 200. Even more incredibly, the re-release skyrocketed the album back to #1 on the Top Country Albums chart, where it has been ever since. As of this post, This One's For You/Too is on track to hit its 50th week at the top spot on TCA. On this chart, that will be (and already is) the longest reign for a male artist and will tie Shania Twain's 1997 album Come On Over for the longest reign overall! In terms of sales, This One's For You is certified double platinum by the RIAA for having sold over two million copies since its release!
For this album, we're going to rank the deluxe edition, meaning there are 17 tracks to listen to.

I realize 17 tracks is quite a lot to listen to, and the holiday season is coming up. Because of that, I'm setting the deadline for this way out in advance. I'm gonna go ahead and set the deadline for Saturday, December 7. All who are interested in doing this are welcome to do this, regardless of whether you've been tagged or not! Y'all probably know how to do this: Listen to the album, rank it from #1 (your favorite) to #17 (your least favorite), and PM your list to me by the deadline. 3. Which songs will be in the top 5? All of the singles are likely contenders especially “When It Rains It Pours”, “She Got the Best of Me”, and “Hurricane”. I’ve never been a fan of “One Number Away” but I doubt it misses the top five since quite a few on Pulse seem to enjoy it.
4. What song will be most polarizing? “Beautiful Crazy” or maybe an album track such as “Don’t Tempt Me” Least polarizing? “When It Rains It Pours”

9. How will the title track, "This One's For You", do? I’d have to think it’ll be one of the first five songs to exit
10. Any other thoughts and/or predictions? I hadn’t listened to this album since it first came out and it was great getting to revisit it. I’m not really a fan of albums with as many songs as this record has (or deluxe albums for that matter) because everything kind of starts to blend together, but overall this is a very solid debut.
