It’s Halloween so why not? What are some country songs that you find haunting or Halloweenish?
“Jersey On The Wall” by Tenille Townes is a current one that I find haunting. “If I Die Young” “Moon Over Mexico” is one for me as well for some reason on ‘The Prequel’, Luke Combs’ EP from this past summer “Best I Ever Had” - Gary Allan “Life Ain’t Always Beautiful” - Gary Allan “The Sound Of A Million Dreams” - David Nail “Burning House” - Cam

Hit the nail on the head with all these 👏🏽 “Ghosts on the Stereo” - Carrie Underwood “Two Black Cadillacs” - Carrie Underwood “Better Dig Two” - The Band Perry “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” - The Charlie Daniels Band Will add more I think of some!

Choctaw County Affair, it can be turned into an entirely Halloween themed musical.

I find the Highwomen by the Highwomen kind of haunting, though not necessarily Halloweeny

I find the Highwomen by the Highwomen kind of haunting, though not necessarily Halloweeny Ooh you can help, I felt like there was a song I wanted to include on this topic by Sarah Harmer (More folk but still figured it can go here) but I can't remember if it was her or someone else I'm misremembering. Does she have any haunting songs? Also almost included Kathleen Edwards and Patty Griffin but the songs I was thinking didn't quite fit when I relistened. (P.S. Do you like Allison Moorer? Was thinking you'd enjoy her new album!)

George Strait - "Run" It's not exactly Halloweeny, but it just has such a perfectly dark and haunting atmosphere...

Anyway, I can't think of anything off the top of my head by Sarah Harmer that would fit. Maybe Dandelions In Bullet Holes? Lodestar is a pretty epic build-up song but not really haunting in its theme, but very beautiful.

Allison is worth a look! Especially her last 2 albums.

It is October 1st so I figured I would bump this thread and see if anyone has any to add to this list? I am thinking of making a playlist with songs included.

You could make an argument for Carrie Underwood's "Ghost Story" fitting the theme here.

You could make an argument for Carrie Underwood's "Ghost Story" fitting the theme here. Was coming in to say this. Reba McEntire’s “Maggie Creek Road” and “The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia” both definitely fit the bill imo. Part of me wants to also mention Patsy Cline’s “Sweet Dreams,” for its (imo) eerie connection to Reba.

CLEAR AS DAY from his first album by the same name - Scotty McCreery
This should have been a single. So good. To this day, I still listen to it often.
