I really like this and think its a big step up from her last (double) album and Platinum. I do dislike the production in spots - primarily on "Settling Down" which lyrically sounds like a smash to me, but the production is a little odd and I don't see it working well on radio.
"Bluebird" for next single.
Favorites: Bluebird Settling Down White Trash Mess With My Head Too Pretty For Prison It All Comes Out In The Wash

Bluebird is still my favourite, but the album is quite good!

I like this overall. After one listen so far, my favorite tracks are "Track Record" and "Dark Bars."

This album is fantastic. It's my favourite already after Revolution and Four The Record, and could absolutely end up as my favourite album of hers overall. "It All Comes Out In The Wash" is a great lead single, but there are so many other great songs on here that could easily be follow ups. "Mess With My Head" seems the most obvious second single choice, but "Bluebird" and "Way Too Pretty For Prison" could definitely be follow ups too.

She really can do no wrong. What a wonderful record! Also, as a side note, I kind of like how two of my favorite ML songs (“Easy From Now On” and “Bluebird”) both contain the lyric, “I’ve got a wildcard up my sleeve.”

This is a great CD. Loving it so far. Settling Down is a great jam! I’d love for that to be a single. Bluebird is also an early favorite. Still love Tequila Does but probably not a good single choice.

This is a return to form after a somewhat disappointing last record. The highlights for me are "Bluebird", "Settling Down", "Track Record" and "Mess With My Head".

When I first heard this album, I thought it was very back-loaded. Only 2 songs from the front half jumped out at me. On literally the next listen, some magic must've happened because every song jumped out at me. A Shania amount of singles in this record imo.
Dark Bars, Bluebird, and How Dare You Love are my absolute Top 3. Other standouts were MWMH, IACOITW (grew dramatically on me the past couple weeks as compared to its initial release), Track Record, Settling Down, Locomotive, and Pretty B**chin'.
Definitely my favorite album from her in some time. Bluebird especially speaks to me personally and is probably one of my all time favorites from her.

I’m a bit surprised by the raves. This is her weakest album since her debut. It’s not bad by any means, but there’s nothing new on it for her, and it lacks the thematic heft of her best albums.

It's a good album, but I agree. Doesn't have the same impact on me and doesn't seem to have much of a theme... There are some gems, though, and she will likely win "Album of the Year" 2020 CMA/2021 ACM. I LOVE "Tequila Does", love love love!

She's the strongest albums artist in the biz imo. All of her albums are incredibly strong, cohesive, and have just enough of a different feel from each other that her music always sound fresh and fantastic. Loving this whole record, but that was to be expected. Early faves for me are the lead single, "Mess with My Head," "Settling Down," "Way Too Pretty for Prison," "Bluebird," "Track Record," and "Dark Bars."
For the rest of the singles, my initial thoughts are to go this route: 2. Mess with My Head 3. Bluebird 4. Way Too Pretty for Prison
I also think "Settling Down" would make a solid single choice. I could see "Tequila Does" working possibly as well, and maybe a few other options would be viable. It's such a strong album. I'm disappointed "Wash" doesn't look likely to get her back into the top 10 of the country charts, but I do hope that something from this record does that for her.

I feel like Mess With My Head and Bluebird is the greatest route as far as the second and third singles, and she would hopefully be in the Top 10 with those. I think Settling Down, Track Record, How Dare You Love, and Dark Bars (with the instrumental ending chopped off to clock it in at under 4 minutes) would work as singles as well. Such a great album all around.

I agree that there's a lack of theme that's throwing me a bit, but this is the same "problem" I had with Platinum. I find with almost all her albums she does a really amazing job of making everything feel like it belongs together, like taking anything away would ruin the experience. This new one and Platinum for me both don't quite do that as there's songs here that while good or even great don't feel 100% necessary. Still a great album and that's only one aspect of what I like in albums so this isn't her weakest for me, I'd put it ahead of Platinum and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend personally. 01. Four The Record 02. The Weight Of These Wings 03. Kerosene 04. Revolution 05. Wildcard 06. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend 07. Platinum Also now that i've given the album about 10 spins this is my current ranking. 01. Dark Bars 02. Fire Escape 03. How Dare You Love 04. Holy Water 05. Way Too Pretty For Prison 06. Bluebird 07. It All Comes Out In The Wash 08. Track Record 09. Pretty Bitchin' 10. Settling Down 11. Mess With My Head 12. Locomotive 13. Tequila Does 14. White Trash

This new one and Platinum for me both don't quite do that as there's songs here that while good or even great don't feel 100% necessary. I thought Platinum had a clear theme of a woman finding herself in the midst of celebrity/media (and more specifically a celebrity marriage). I actually find it to be the album of hers with the most blatant theme. She also let her sass show more. The album then leaned more into the rock side of things in the production, which gives it a sonic theme that works with the focus on living within a rock lifestyle. That was my take, anyway. The first two singles were the worst songs on the album for me and "Automatic" stuck out in a negative way lyrically, but otherwise the album is terrific.

I listened to the album out of order and Fire Escape was my last song, it really surprised me and might be my favorite.
After hearing everything, Wash really does seem like the best first single choice.
I also liked Way Too Pretty For Prison more than I thought I would. Something Bad has permanently scarred me.
I had convinced myself Pretty Bitchin' wouldn't be the phrase, and would be something like "I sure do look pretty while I'm bitchin'." The new Thomas Rhett VHS. RIP the song I heard in my mind before I listened. 😂
I loved the chorus to Tequila Does and wish the whole song had that feel. When it slowed back down I was like, ahhh sh*t.

I mean, they're clearly not wrong. I'm particularly disappointed that there are no female co-writers on Luke's album, while Miranda's is nearly chock-full of them. That's just...I can't wrap my head around it. We need to get to the place where country music is a genre open to all period, not all men, and we've got to get there now. I'm hoping that Carrie, Reba, and Dolly address this head-on in their monologue at the CMA's.

The album's alright.. middle of the road for her. "Mess With My Head" should be the next single.. probably should have been the lead.
