The Carly Rae Jepsen and Enrique Iglesias remix of "Lalala" could not save the song, it seems.

Most of these aren't correct at all unfortunately. Here is a list of all of the songs up to 2017 that spent at least 16 weeks in the top 3: www.billboard.com/amp/articles/columns/chart-beat/7678024/ask-billboard-how-historic-is-the-chainsmokers-closerAnd regarding the list above, I might do a little something with it tomorrow.

When will America finally accept Carly Rae as our true savior of pop music? It's not just America. The only major countries she's charted recently in terms of singles are Japan and Canada, and it seems she's losing her popularity in both countries singles-wise. Her albums do fine, but I'm not so sure she'll have another hit unless it goes viral.

Billboard wrote an article about Absofacto - Dissolve here (when it was charting on the Alternative chart in the summer for the same reason): www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/8519579/absofacto-dissolve-alternative-songs-chart-tiktokBut this brings me onto another question. Apparently this song's original release (even onto Spotify) was in 2015? Yet they've not put it on the recurrent songs chart. Why? Is it because the song got removed from the Internet and then "re-released" later on? Was it because he had no record label at the time? I don't get it. It seems to me that it should be breaking that rule that effected LIzzo recently.

I think we can safely say that Charlie's Angels was not her era. While not a studio album era, she did executive produce the album and appears on half of its track list. It didn't do well, and that's ok. Everyone has, or will have, project(s) that don't do well. Had it blown up and went triple platinum with several hit singles for her, would you be so quick to distance Ariana from it, or not count it as her album sales? Makes me think about The Bodyguard, how it's super successful, and also regarded as a Whitney album. She, too, is featured on half of that various-artist album. I wonder if it would be considered a Whitney album if it had tanked. I normally don't engage in this kind of off-topic subject matter, but I think it's a fair point to consider. It's definitely fair to say. She dominates the album. Hard to believe she was on top at the start of year and the reverse happened in the last few months. A nice vacation is needed.

Lol at Kanye getting only 2 weeks on chart for all songs except Follow God.
Comparing to DaBaby's and YoungBoy's biggest album tracks that are stable.

I think we can safely say that Charlie's Angels was not her era. While not a proper studio album era, she did executive produce the album and appears on half of its track list. It's not doing well, and that's ok. Everyone has, or will have, project(s) that don't do well. Had it blown up and went triple platinum with several hit singles for her, I don't think anyone would be trying to distance Ariana from it. Probably quite the opposite. Narratives change with the wind in this kind of scenario, depending on the outcome. Makes me think about The Bodyguard Soundtrack. Whitney executive produced it and performs on half of the track list. It was super successful, aaannnnnnd it's considered a Whitney album. I wonder if it would be considered a Whitney album if it had tanked. I also wonder what would (have) happen(ed) if Ariana was also making her lead role motion picture debut in Charlie's Angels. Anyway, I normally don't engage in this kind of off-topic subject matter, but I think it's a fair point to consider. “The Bodyguard OST” would have been considered a Whitney Houston album as aside from singing 6 of the 12 songs, she’s also the star of the movie in which the soundtrack represents overall. It was also always heralded as “The Whitney Houston Soundtrack album” by her record label, Arista, and even Billboard in specific articles. Ultimately, it depends on which angle the album is promoted and marketed by the music industry to the public and how it’s perceived overall. For example: • The “Grease” OST isn’t considered an Olivia Newton-John album despite her singing on 7 of the albums 24 tracks, 4 of which were released and all became top ten hits. She’s also one of the two main stars of the original movie. Fun Fact: Olivia Newton-John’s record label initially wanted to give her sole billing on the soundtrack because she was the biggest star, and didn’t even want to release other songs that didn’t include her on them, but she declined and said that it wouldn’t be fair to John Travolta and the other artists on the record. Also, she was scared that she’d receive backlash from the American public if she did so compared to a few years prior. She spoke about this in an Australian interview a while back.

Meh about Lewis blocking "Circles" this week. Don't hate the track but I prefer Post's single. Maybe next week.
