I think at the current chart pace, the 2020s Decade-End cutoff will require less points than 2010s. Only 6 2020 hits had enough points thus far, and half were released in 2019 and benefitted from COVID stagnating radio. There's just not nearly as much songs passing the 2010s cutoff as there should be at this point. I don't think any more songs that were released/hits in 2020 will be hitting the cutoff at this point either. It's still early to tell. IIRC, only like six 2017 songs made the 2010s list. Humble, #4, wasn't one of them. Something Just Like This also failed at #5. Apparently big (in a way I dislike) time.

Is there any possibility for Blinding Lights to pass The Twist? How much more time in the top 10 would it take to pull that off?

Would WAP be locked for the decade end if it’s number 1 run wasn’t interrupted by dynamite for 3 weeks?

I don’t think so, Black Beatles had 7 weeks at #1, 14 weeks in the top 10, and 27 weeks on the chart, and missed the 2010s decade end pretty comfortably.

Here's how the songs on this week's Billboard Hot 100 (Jan 16, 2021) would appear on an all-time top 10,000. Last Week | This Week | Chg | Track | Artist | Total Pts | 3 | 3 | 0 | Blinding Lights | The Weeknd | 1,471,724 | 100 | 97 | 3 | ROCKSTAR
| DaBaby and Roddy Ricch | 983,195 | 593 | 431 | 162 | Mood | 24KGoldn and Iann Dior | 747,252 | 1186 | 1074 | 112 | I Hope | Gabby Barrett | 598,128 | 1270 | 1150 | 120 | Laugh Now, Cry Later | Drake and Lil Durk | 583,185 | 1448 | 1410 | 38 | WHATS POPPIN | Jack Harlow , Tory Lanez & Lil Wayne | 533,409 | 1466 | 1435 | 31 | WAP | Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion | 529,890 | 1679 | 1634 | 45 | Dynamite | BTS | 499,545 | 1698 | 1672 | 26 | Watermelon Sugar | Harry Styles | 495,686 | 1777 | 1739 | 38 | Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat) | Jawsh 365 and Jason DeRulo | 486,863 | 3287 | 2947 | 340 | positions | Ariana Grande | 346,460 | 3401 | 3125 | 276 | Go Crazy | Chris Brown and Young Thug | 329,528 | 3473 | 3189 | 284 | Holy | Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper | 322,745 | 3482 | 3430 | 52 | Before You Go | Lewis Capaldi | 297,041 | 3962 | 3861 | 101 | For The Night | Pop Smoke | 254,490 | 3959 | 3862 | 97 | Lemonade | Internet Money featuring Gunna and Toliver | 254,303 | 5814 | 5596 | 218 | Dakiti | Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez | 141,525 | 7629 | 6518 | 1111 | Bang! | AJR | 114,342 | 7378 | 6963 | 415 | Kings & Queens | Ava Max | 103,751 | 8619 | 7116 | 1503 | Levitating | Dua Lipa | 100,283 | 7951 | 7700 | 251 | More Than My Hometown | Morgan Wallen | 89,352 | 8796 | 8167 | 629 | Therefore I Am | Billie Eilish | 80,597 | 9463 | 8725 | 738 | 34+35 | Ariana Grande | 72,675 | 9713 | 9169 | 544 | Willow | Taylor Swift | 66,895 | 9843 | 9241 | 602 | What You Know Bout Love | Pop Smoke | 66,164 | 9905 | 9662 | 243 | Forever After All | Luke Combs | 61,200 | 10665 | 9828 | 837 | Lonely | Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco | 59,500 | 10151 | 9902 | 249 | 7 Summers | Morgan Wallen | 58,803 |
Note 1: Mood now has almost exactly half the points that Blinding Lights does.
Note 2: For those looking at Blinding Lights progress, here's my estimation:
BL is 18,536 points behind Smooth for #2 all-time. Another week in the top ten will give it more than enough points to surpass it. BL is 339,796 points behind The Twist for #1 all-time. That's a tougher road. It would need to spend the equivalent of another ten weeks at #2 on the Hot 100 to get that many points and reach the all-time top spot. Or about 15 weeks in the top 10 if it was in the #5-#10 range on the weekly Hot 100. I really don't see that happening.
Still without the multiplier effect, Blinding Lights would be the biggest hit in Hot 100 history.
Note 3: Oh, and for those of you who didn't see tanooki 's post in the Coincidences thread, last week ROCKSTAR by DaBaby got to #100 all-time. The song it knocked out of the top 100? Rockstar by Post Malone.

I hope "WAP" somehow manages to sneak into the Decade-End list. It already feels like such a defining song, and an excellent representation of female rappers thriving together again.

In order to balance out the songs from each decade in the top 600, I suggest multiplying the points since Nielsen SoundScan was used by varying multipliers:
Scores that are 1,000,000 or higher do not get multiplied.
Well, basically. Every song starts with a x1.0 multiplier. For every 300,000 points a song is short of 1,000,000, add 0.1 to the multiplier.
More specifically, for every 1 point short of 1,000,000, add a third of 0.000001 to the multiplier. So songs that are 150,000 points short (or have 850,000) will have their scores multiplied by x1.05.
This is kind of like income taxes.
But songs that are higher than 1,000,000 will not go down, so songs from 1992 to the present with 1,300,000 points would not have their scores multiplied by x0.9. They still have 1,300,000 points.
Multipliers of songs with X points: X Multiplier New score 1,300,000 1.0 1,300,000 1,150,000 1.0 1,150,000 1,000,000 1.0 1,000,000 850,000 1.05 892,500 700,000 1.1 770,000 550,000 1.15 632,500 400,000 1.2 480,000
If a score and multiplier are not listed, it doesn't mean they're not used. For instance, a song with 925,000 points will have a x1.025 multiplier, or 948,125 points.

Blinding Lights is already the best performing year-end #1 hit of all time.
That was previously Uptown Funk!, before that, Macarena.

This is a little late.
Already made the decade-end: Blinding Lights ROCKSTAR Mood
Have decent chances: Laugh Now, Cry Later Positions Holy Levitating
Ought to prove it: Go Crazy Bang! 34+35 Anyone Save Your Tears

The top 10000 this week has the highest position to ever be updated and most likely ever will be. Blinding Lights move from #3 to #2 all-time. It's very unlikely it will survive long enough to overtake The Twist at #1, so I think this will be the biggest update to the all-time chart we'll see in our lifetime. Ugh! It will be really tough losing that bottom five eventually. "Hot Stuff", "Billie Jean", and "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" in particular are bonafide classics, and really deserve to be represented on this list.
But hey, at least the replacement we're getting are for the most part really great. "SICKO MODE", "bad guy", "Sunflower", "Old Town Road", "ROCKSTAR"...all strong contenders for future classics - not to mention our new top 10 entries. 😍

What about You're Still The One?
It's chart run seems like perfect, except it hasn't spent any weeks at #1. Weeks at #1 are apparently important.
The 1999, 2000 edition of the 1990s decade-end seemed all about weeks at #1. It was #34 there, lower than Tha Crossroads, which isn't even in the top 600 of all time.

In the 65th anniversary, we could be saying goodbye to the entire bottom 20 in the 60th anniversary (except for Perfect).

How crazy am I for thinking Blinding Lights could get #1? If it gets 10 more weeks in the top 10 that would give it like 250000-300000 points and if one of them is at #1 (Super Bowl week) then it would be all but guaranteed to pass the Twist. So if it can just do that and then fall slowly out of the top 10 it could totally get the like 300000 it needs

The updated G.O.A.T list puts in a conclusion that 2020 has the strongest Year-End Top 2 ever ("Blinding Lights"/"Circles", and both has also surpassed "Uptown Funk!" on my all-time favourite songs)

No movement in the top two entries on the all-time list, for the chart week of Jan 30, 2021. As usual, here's where tracks on this week's Hot 100 would appear if Billboard did a top 10,000 of all-time list.

The Weeknd is releasing the equivalent of a "greatest hits" package on Feb 4, about the time of his Super Bowl show, so it's likely Blinding Lights will climb (back to #1? maybe not so improbable) and may even give BL enough shelf-life to surpass The Twist for #1 all time. That will be an historic moment - the first time there would be a change at the top in almost 60 years.

Here's a pivot table you might find interesting. It's the 200 most successful years by act in Hot 100 history. Any act can appear multiple times.
I got it by summarizing total chart points for all songs that peaked in the same year for the first credited artists. So duets are obviously problematical. Nonetheless, it's an interesting list. Rank | Act | Year | Points | 1 | The Beatles | 1964 | 6,667,892 | 2 | Post Malone | 2019 | 3,857,919 | 3 | Usher | 2004 | 3,613,700 | 4 | Chubby Checker | 1962 | 3,344,070 | 5 | Michael Jackson | 1983 Is it me, or did the period from Dec. '91 through mid. '95 get the short end of the stick? Songs from that period benefitted from SoundScan/airplay tracking, but not singles sales loopholes or greater radio airplay points. It's this weird middle ground with neither the longer chart durations of the latter part of the decade nor the greater point multipliers from before. The top 500 of the 90s was heavily skewed towards the first couple years. A 1.2 multiplier or something would do wonders for this period, but whatevs.

| Michael Jackson | 1983 | 3,247,080 |
I think the multiplier gave The Beatles an advantage.
