I actually really liked the remix version Spotify had uploaded first, it flowed seamlessly with the production and her bars were more playful. I donβt HATE the new remix but I definitely wonβt be replaying it like I would the first remix (and the solo).
I just hope this goes #1 for Nicki at the end of the day. The streaming numbers look a bit alarming though.

The remix is tanking on Spotify, glad it should push it to the top 3 next week though. This should also be #1 on CHR by next week. the beat change is really the big problem people are pointing out. I agree, I think "Say So" had a near perfect melody and beat so I don't really get why Nicki felt the need to switch it up. it does give the song some freshness, but at what price?? nicki is not getting credited on billboard and the remix will be forgotten soon methinks. though, if the closing line is indeed a response to BeyoncΓ© and her verse in Savage Remix (talking about her real ass and putting jeans on jumping and shit), then they might get some more drama points and interest in the remix. |

About adding Nicki to the title: it's a common practice for the thread title to change when a high-profile remix is released. It does NOT signify the version radio is playing, but only to demonstrate that the label has injected a new dose of fuel to this single. I tend to give it 1-2 weeks and see if the remix indeed takes off. After this short period, due change will be made to match the version getting more spins/streams.
Also, I removed the "remix" mark from the title because it's not in the title of the official release (unlike "Savage Remix"). See:

I'm fine with it tbh. It's more of an annoyance at how a very vocal but probably small section of stan twitter is trying to make this a huge deal and Nicki's potential first #1 hit when it's really not that deep lmao. I still have a lot of respect for Nicki, it's a portion of her fanbase that seems to actively work to make me roll my eyes. When I first heard this months ago I thought it was Nicki on the track doing the rap part... My mom said the same thing! She was like first "TUSA", now this song? Nicki's on fire. To be honest if I didn't know the credits beforehand I'd have probably thought it was Nicki too. |
