Will the Grammy nominations have any influence on this week's charts? Probably not, unless an unexpected song makes the cut for one of the main categories, similarly to how Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” became a hit in 2015.

Will the Grammy nominations have any influence on this week's charts? No. This is 2019, not 2009 or even 2014.

So let me throw out a quick question here, just because I've seen a half-dozen different narratives swirling around and I'd like clarity: should we be considering THIS week (2019-11-30) as the last of the Billboard 2019 year, or the previous week? If you have cited evidence from Billboard directly or a real source, that'd be great to see.

idk harry literally hasn't promoted any singles at all or sent any to radio this era. His two songs are still in the top 10 charts on the Spotify charts. Pretty impressive if you ask me. Indeed. Both songs are cool. I can't wait to hear more of his different sounds when his album drops. With these songs, I think he is being underrated and not getting sufficient promotion. A few stations played "Lights Up" in the early weeks, but it was not sufficient to make the Radio Charts. Why Radio's don't pick up on him is a mystery?

I don't think Billboard has said anything yet, but the most likely answer will be last week and that this week will not count towards any year end list. Since Billboard arbitrarily cut the 2010s decade end list by 2 months and didn't include the Nov. 24, 2018 chart in the 2018 YE list, I think it's a safe bet that they will just do a 52 week year starting with the first chart week of December.

I'm going to be assuming that Billboard will use a 11/24/2018 - 11/23/2019 chart year for this week. The reason why 11/24/2018 wasn't counted for last year's year-end chart was not because that there would be 53 weeks otherwise (they did a 53 week year-end charting for 2013) but because of the extra week of 1/3/2018. Thus, I think that 11/24/2018 will be for this year and this chart (11/30/2019) will be for next year.

Y'all better get this to chart during the holiday season From listenting to this, what I can figure is that I don't actually hate AIWFCIY. Rather, I hate the idea of a 25 year old Christmas song that charts every year taking the top spot from songs that are actually hits from the present day, as well as giving songs below it a lower chart position than what it'd be outside of the holiday season. The song itself is just fine.

Does Panini have 1.2 billion streams? Surely if it’s a bigger hit than Gentleman, it should have much more streams, considering it was released in the streaming age. On Spotify, Panini has almost six times as many streams as Gentleman. oh yeah let's just compare spotify 2019 and spotify 2013 as if that's fair...

Streams from different eras aren't comparable at all. Even if you tried to account for inflation in streams by weighing everything differently, how you do it would vary (there isn't an absolute way to do it).
And also, only using streams to determine how big a song is overall isn't accurate either. Over on streaming, Gentleman should be considered a hit since it hit #1 and had more than enough longevity to do so. But on the Hot 100, it didn't have much longevity at all. Compare that with Panini which only peaked at #2 on Streaming but spent two months in the Hot 100's Top 10. One is bigger overall, while another only so on Streaming.

If I recall, people bought more songs on iTunes and listen to the radio in 2013 than streaming on Spotify. I haven’t heard of Spotify until 2014 and didn’t get an account til 2016.

Digital sales didn't really start to plummet until after 2016, when under 100k began being regular for a #1 song.

It’s earning it on the same metrics as any other song.

How is it even a question?
Panini was bigger than Gentleman in US lmfao. The latter literally had one-week hype just off Gangnam Style.

I don't...really recall how we somehow ended up in a Panini vs. Gentleman battle. Even in the context of a OHW conversation, it's a very random and uneven matchup for two songs with fairly different circumstances.
But for reference, Gentleman's Hot 100 run was:
12-5-26-33-39-49-46-56-73-75-79-80-83-94-95-off (15 total weeks, only five weeks inside the top 40 and one week inside the top 10)
Panini:
16-22-27-29-28-31-31-36-38-40-29-14-5-6-8-10-9-6-9-8-9- (21 weeks and counting, all weeks inside the top 40 and 9 weeks inside the top 10)

This seems to confirm that Take What You Want will be released as a single pretty soon, probably after the AMAs on the 24th. If there's a music video accompanying it how much of a gain can we see this week or the next?

We do need that music video soon though. 😪

Okay Better Now, Wow., and (possibly) Circles not reaching number one, all will be forgiven if Take What You Want reaches number one. Doubly so if it somehow finds away to become the number one song of 2020 (LET ME DREAM, ALRIGHT).

Please let it make the YE list next year, I don't expect it to hit #1 or even the top 3 but I at least want that much
