^I'm leaning toward that; though, "Linus and Lucy" is regarded as a Christmas/holiday track, and it's an instrumental.  And, some consider "My Favorite Things" to be a Christmas/holiday song. |

^I think it re-entered the upcoming chart's corresponding week last year; will it do so this time? It finished this past week with 2.616 million Spotify streams, and it rose to No. 43 on YouTube's Songs chart, with 2.55 million. Airplay would be negligible right now (a local AC station just turned all-holiday this weekend), and sales probably would be lower than last season.

My absolute pet peeve is when people say “Hallelujah” is a Christmas song. I blame Pentatonix. But yeah the two examples you gave are super irritating too haha |

"Linus and Lucy" (incidentally, one of my favorite pieces of music), I can see, as it was used in the Peanuts Christmas special, after Vince Guaraldi released it the prior year on a Charlie Brown album. The track then became the signature musical piece for Peanuts specials/shows thereafter.

Despite relatively minor gains overall (Lil Nas X's track lost plays, though still gains in rank), holiday charts zip up the charts. I'd imagine they will decline somewhat sharply tomorrow, though, which is what usually happens after weekend surges.

^Thanks for the comparison/flashback. I'm surprised "All I Want..." didn't reenter the Hot 100 for the comparable week (it did at 39 last season, vs. No. 8 Recurrent this year). However, it should catch up, as it moved to 31 in its second week back on in 2019 and may reenter around that position this season.
On another note- are the usual suspects part of a lot of playlists? I'd think, given it's the same crop of songs that always rank high. On other services, it's probably a similar thing. These general holiday playlists function similarly to AC stations during the holiday season.

Today “Feliz Navidad” surpassed Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” to become the #13 most-streamed Christmas song in Spotify history. This is the first ranking change within the all-time top 40 so far this season.

jodak- I don't see "Do They Know..." in Amazon's current top 200. Lots more holiday music in the Amazon chart (which runs deeper than 200 positions) than Spotify.
